Does anyone know what I have to do to get my "work" to go in game? I took Knuckles' model from STGGREENHILL.PAC. I added a punch of bones to it to give it a similar bone structure to Sonic. I tested Sonic's Animations on him in Brawlbox. They all looked nice, and fit perfectly. I put him on my SD card as FITSONIC01.PAC and FITSONIC01.PCS. I tried to load it, and I get the freezing loud beep of death. Any suggestions? Anything I'm missing? Does this have to do with the added bones, or does this have to do with the whole "putting a model over top of a playable character" thing, and I'm just missing vital a step or something. If someone else wants to work on it, I can upload my work so far to you.
Hey, I noticed it says that one of your current projects coming up is Melee Young Link over Toon Link. I would die for this, so, I ask, do you have a Melee Young Link Model to base this off of? I can get one for you if you'd like, like I did for Roy.
(If you've said anything previously pertaining to anything in my post, I apologize for not reading it properly.)
All of the Melee stages that aren't in Brawl. What? Is this a character only thread?
Also: Young Link with Toon Link's bone structure, Melee Pichu with Pikachu's bone structure, Mewtwo with Lucatio's bone structure (minus the tail, that can be edited a little) and Melee Dr. Mario with Mario's Bone structure. No real need for Roy, unless I'm missing something. BeyondYou's Roy is perfect as far as I am concerned.
I want to make a T-Shirt with the Captain America Shield on the front that has the text above it "Dant was Right." If you don't get this, I understand. If you DO get this, I feel bad for you. lol
i dont see why everyone wants revamps of mariokarts work, mariokart had 5 years experience in 3ds max and his work was pretty much perfect already and i doubt Beyond could do better. (no offence Beyond)
I don't understand why people like you DON'T want a revamp. Look at the tail! It's bent, when in T-Stance (Which is a big no-no). This doesn't allow him to properly use most of his tail based moves. Whenever he puts his arms in certain positions (like, you know, in his waiting animation) his shoulder's spike up. His ear...horn... things still looks like Lucario's ears (which has more to do with the normals/shader's, really. I think I might be able fix that, because I've done some research into shaders)
These are all problems caused by using polygon wrapping, instead of just eyeballing it, and using the human touch.
Yes, if you catch the model in game at JUST THE RIGHT ANGLE and in JUST THE RIGHT POSE it looks perfect, but have you ever tried playing with it? No offense to MarioKart, but it doesn't look good.
BUT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEYONDYOU. I ORIGINALLY SAID IT AS A JOKE. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS POST. IT'S COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC
Heeeeello? PLEASE someone tell me What Im doing wrong
Just following the instructions I gave, the normal Marth .REL doesn't work over Wolf, Jigglypuff, Fox, Diddy Kong, nor Game & Watch. There are most likely more characters that won't work, but they've yet to be tested.
It DOES work on Marth (duh), Ike, Yoshi, Ness, Rob, and possibly more, but untested, characters.
http://anonym.to/?http://opensa.dantarion.com/wiki/Patching_Character_Modules#MARTH See those addresses? Pretty much the same as the ones Oshtoby posted. Wiki page was created on September 28th 2010 and last edited October 4th 2010. Oshtoby posted his findings April 4th 2011. It has been around 7 months before one of you even figured out how to patch Marth's module, yet it was available all that time already.
Well, in my defense, I knew you COULD do it, I just never did it since I hadn't been motivated. The only reason I made the Marth .REL over Ike when I did was because a perfect Melee-type Roy model came out, and I wanted to use it. This is why I said that I really didn't do anything. I just used Dantarion's notes (exactly the ones you posted).
If nothing else, this experience has left me feeling a little different about the Project M team. I do not think you're snoody anymore. I posted one simple thing, and it cause a whole slew of "I DIDN'T READ ANYTHING YOU WROTE, BUT I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT IT" comments. I fully understand you guys not posting every detail about your discoveries, and how to replicate them.
To everyone complaining that Marth can't go over whatever character:
Okay, I'm going to type this out as thorough as I can. This goes for almost ANY character.
Take my Marth-over-Ike pack Use it. Now leave my pack alone, the rest of these instructions have nothing to do with my pack. Take Ike's generic .REL, which can be attained in the OP of this thread. Make the hex changes in it to put it over a [censored]y character (in this case, Jigglypuff) Put that .REL in your "modules" folder, replacing the sucky character with Ike. Take all of Ike's Files off of the disc. Rename them from FitIke.PAC and the like to Fit[INSERT CHARACTER YOU'RE REPLACING HERE].PAC (FitPurin.PAC in this case) Put them in that respective character's folder on your SD card
Now, select Marth to play as Marth. Select Ike to play as Roy. Select the [censored]ty character (like Jigglypuff in this case) to play as Ike.
Now, the [censored]ty character (Jigglypuff in this case) is out, and NOT able to be played as. Ike is STILL able to be played as Roy is able to be played as Marth is able to be played as
Wait, wouldn't I have to have the codes: "Jigglypuff has Ike's IC Constant"s instead of "Ike has Marth IC Constants"? Same for "Ike uses Marth's Sound Bank"
You're replacing Jiggs? The soundbank won't matter, he just won't make sound. To test it WITHOUT the codes, don't jump and don't punch. Just end the match immediately (by pressing start and exiting the match) and see if the game doesn't freeze. If it doesn't freeze, congrats, it SHOULD work perfectly with the codes.
