BeyondYou, I work for an IT Help Desk. If you'd like, is there way you can talk to me on AIM or something? I might be able to step you through fixing your computer, if you have another computer or a phone that can use AIM or something.
Once again, I hate when DBZ characters are put on polls... They almost always win... XD
The same could be said for characters of ANY major franchise. Final Fantasy characters especially. Roy, a character that people have been DYING to put back in Brawl, only BARELY won last time over some character from FF7. If you include a character from FF7, you may as well give them the victory.
Do you plan on retexturing and making recolors for BeyondYou's new Roy to have Melee's textures when it comes out? I mean, of course you'd need to ask him, but, I mean, are you considering this? I mean... his model pretty much IS Melee Roy's model. I helped make sure to that =D
I will stop whining and be supportive about Roy now >.> BeyondYou, there is a Roy model import from the game sword of seals. Maybe you can use that to help you by getting ideas in making him look like that and melee's Roy.
>_> How is there a Roy model import from a gameboy game?
Thats from GBA? Okay, let me get this straight. 1. Look for in advanced search "Roy sword of seals" 2. Look at the 3D MODEL IMPORT that's in the brawl vault of Roy
Previously, I posted, preposterously, using poor praenomen prowess, on my part. Posthumously, the OP pounced on my slipup, posting a paraphrase of it, making permanent my poor perception. I say "posthumously" partly because I proofread my published post, post-posting. I postponed this polish on my piece long enough to perish my purpose, though, since the OP published my mishap publicly. Poor me. I now prepare for the worst, as post after post will positively persecute my problem of posting "Pik" where the OP's name should prevail. Not on purpose, did this pass. Please, BeyondYou and his posse, palliate my past "Pik" publication, passed though the internet pipeline. Pretty please?
I know the angle you're going with Pik, like, you're trying to make a Brawlified Roy, but what would it take for you to make a Marth-to-Roy vertex hack that looked like his Melee incarnation? With how well you made the Zero vertex hack, I'm positive you can work miracles.
Did you just call me Pik? O_o Considering how much you hate people getting your name wrong, I thought you'd be good with names.
Well, I'm not going for a Brawlified look model-wise, I want his model to look as it did in Melee.
shouldnt this whole conversation go through PM??? cuz its kinda off-topic...
waiting for that epic perfect roy...
It doesn't really matter, it wasn't a big thing.
Anyway, looking forward to Roy. Hey Beyond...um... I know this is the question that anybody who makes anything hates hearing... but how long do you approximate it will take?
I have no idea. I really want a v3 to be my last attempt at something, so I'm hoping to get this perfect as possible. But unlike most of my hacks, I don't have a lot to work with as far as references goes.
No model to go off of, few decent pics on the web, and no copy of Melee to look at him with. It's gonna take some real character study to get him done right so no clue how long it'll take. Shouldn't take longer than Zero I hope.
WHY. WHY DID YOU QUOTE ME BEFORE I REALIZED MY MISTAKE. Now I feel like a jerk. Gonna go crawl away now...
(I edited my several minutes before you posted your post quoting my post. I realized what I did the instant I posted it. I was looking at Pik's Vault before I came here. Freudian slip. I'm legitimately really sorry/embarrassed.)
With how well you made the Zero vertex hack, I'm positive you can work miracles. I'm looking forward to the Roy vertex. I'm hoping it'll look exactly like his Melee model, but I'll take whatever.
Just so everyone here knows making an entirely new model isn't as easy as you may think >.>
Id just like to get a show of hands of who can actually model something from scratch, unwrap, texture, create a working skeleton and skin.
Because by how everyone is talking they are making it seem like making a new model is easier than vertex editing.
What about people who just want models from other games to be imported? Like rips of Melee stages/characters?
I don't have very many plans; I just want Melee's Mewtwo model (which I have [no bones]) rigged with Lucario's Brawl skeleton (with the tail stretched to fit Mewtwo's tail before anchoring), and Melee's Roy Model (which I have [once again, no bones]) rigged with Brawl Marth's skeleton.
I am going to ask a buddy of mine who went to school for digital animation to teach me how to make/anchor a working 3D model skeleton. This era in Brawl hacking should be fun.
On a side note, was there not a way to extract the bones of a Brawl character? Like, didn't the pre-beta model extractor by Pharrox do that?
I do not think this Bone Adder will see the light of day, anymore. TheShyGuy was last active February 13, and the updates stopped before that. Meh. As excited as I was, I won't lose any sleep over it. (Unless he's on, like, vacation or something, which is what I am hoping.)
I want this post to act as one last bump to this awesome concept's thread.
