241  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Sol Sanctum- Daily Updates- Space Pirate 1 released!!!?!!! on: July 17, 2011, 01:21:04 PM
Sub-Zero has been released.

You can find it here:

http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=20646&Moderated=All

My screen capturing program messed up the last two parts of my video. So I uninstalled it and tried another free one, and this one left me with a corrupted .avi. So that plan ended badly.

Why had no one even attempted a good Sub-Zero yet? There are two unbelievably bad textures in the vault, but that's it.
Now he just needs a psa moveset.

MP2 Space Pirate is next. I can't put it off any longer. Sveta will be after it I suppose.

2nd video of Sub-Zero.
This time I vertexed the helmet and face. Then fixed the eyes and finished the boots.

I'll be doing the texture next.
So I should have an actual preview out by tomorrow for those of you interested.

Metroid Prime 2 Pirate will be started as soon as this is finished.

I agree with SmashHackers.

The random capitalization of words, excessive use of exclamation marks, your overall tone and screaming guy in your sig makes you come off as rude and demanding. If you expect anyone to help you, I suggest you be a little more courteous and show some respect to those of us who took the time out of our days to comment here.

Download that Luigi, then remove the mustache as you removed it on your earlier image. It will then have no hat or mustache.

That's what he meant.

Hold right click and drag to move the model left, right, up, down. Hold CTRL and Right click and drag it around to rotate.

Luigi's hat doesn't support transparency.

Not truly a preview, but I have a video of me working on Sub-Zero (c.falcon).

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgEVuB3JMYU" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgEVuB3JMYU</a>

I started on it yesterday. The arms, chest and part of the belt have been finished. I also removed the kneepads.
I'm going to record every part of this project. They'll serve as a highspeed tutorial of sorts I guess.

This evening I'll start on the face/helmet.

Awesome job with Wario's transformations. Master of Disguise is so underrated. Glad to see it getting some representation.
250  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Does anyone know where I can get 3ds Max 2009 all I see is 10, 11, and 12 on: July 15, 2011, 06:37:58 AM
Probably not. There's no real reason to.

You are supposed to buy 3DSmax and use it for vertexing. If you don't want to buy it, you can either go the illegal route, use one of the earlier 3DSmax methods(Every version of 3DS should be able to use the DasDonkey method where you are just moving vertice points and can't see the model) or use Anim8tr/Blender.

So either keep searching or pick one of the older methods.

I really can't direct your any further without crossing the line.

You have to use a mouse wheel or some other scrolling method to zoom in and out. As far as I know anyway. By default, you are zoomed in really far in the previewer. That is why you can't see anything.

If you are using a laptop/notebook/netbook, the touch pad should have a pinch scroll feature. Look into the specifics based on the brand you are using. For mine, placing two fingers on the pad and pulling both fingers down across the pad = scrolling down with a mouse wheel. Doing so makes the Previewer zoom out.

Some netbooks and laptops also have some arrows drawn on the touchpad. Placing your finger in the area of these arrows and moving up and down also scrolls the page on certain models. My netbook has these as well, but they are often un-responsive.

If you are just using a mouse that doesn't have a scroll wheel. Then lol.
Throw away your IBM 1995 mouse and get something a little more civilized.

Either way, you might just wanna buy a usb mouse that has a mouse wheel. You can find them at Wal-mart or any other major store for under 15$ or so. You could probably find a crappy one for 5$ if you are low on funds.

Also note that after zooming out, you must right click and drag to move about the screen. You can rotate the screen by holding CTRL and Right click at the same time and dragging.
252  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Wario Land Project *Need help with Special Moves* on: July 15, 2011, 04:05:45 AM
Since Aether forgot to mention specifics:

He fixed the Back Air animation. He just turns around and punches straight. He probably needs whatever coding makes Marth turn around after his back-air because it can get fairly spammable from the looks of it.

-

This one hasn't been tested yet, so it might not stay

Wario's animation from eating a projectile with Neutral B, makes him huge. He basically looks like Fat wario. This animation has been edited a bit and put on his down smash.

Eventually, he will hop as he grows fat, then hit the ground once he reaches the maximum size. He will then shrink. Hitboxes should be on his body as he hops, holding the opponent inside of the attack. Then large hitboxes to the side as he strikes the ground. Should be about as strong as DDD's downsmash or forward smash. Either way, it should definitely be a kill move with fairly large beginning and ending lag. He should probably also have some light-medium armor frames scattered throughout the attack.

I thought I would give my opinion of the Vacuum Neutral B as it is now. I don't think he should get rid of it. It kinda works.

About 50% of the time, the opponent is sucked into his mouth and the old neutral B activates. The other 50% of the time, the opponent is either thrown over your head or they pass through the body without catching the Mouth's hitbox.

The range is a little weird too. Aether put a lot of work into trying to make it directly in front of it, but the offsets aren't working right.
The hitbox extends about 2-3 body widths ahead of him....most of the time. As well as 1-2 body height's ahead of him....most of the time. Sometimes it hits directly behind him, sometimes the hitboxes don't connect at all and there is no "wind" at times. The graphic effect refuses to go into the right position as well. I don't know if Aether forgot how to use offsets correctly or what exactly is going on with it.

With some work, it should be usable without all of this randomness. I think he should pass the Vacuum Breath off to someone who understands Special moves better and let them finish it off. All it needs is some offset tweaking and it's perfect.
Although I don't really like the fact that it's basically just making his original Bite attack more usable rather than making a new move.

If it was up to me, I would just make him Punch the opponent when they reach his mouth's hitbox, rather than bite them and continue with the old portion of the Neutral B.

The best vertexing method only works with 3dsMax8 and 9.

I recommend 8.

Keep searching. It is very hard to find 8 or 9 right now. They've gotten rid of most of the downloads out there.
254  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Vertec hacking export mess up on: July 14, 2011, 11:13:45 AM
Printscreen key on your keyboard takes a screenshot. Then open up Paint, paste it in, save it, and upload it online.

If you did a great deal of work in one sitting, it can take forever to patch it out correctly. Sometimes it's better to just do a little vertexing at a time, then export it back out and do it again, continuing. Maybe this is what you're experiencing.
255  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: unrestricted zoom camera on: July 14, 2011, 11:10:39 AM
Well I tried it again. Didn't work.
Googled some more and found a set with this code and the replay code. Thinking that maybe it required both to work, I tried it. It also didn't work.

I'm using the gecko loader through the stage builder without a modded wii if that might matter.
