New Sableye Preview:



Texture:
-Color is fixed
-Need to fix eye textures Done
-Need to shade waist/legs/feet Done
-Make Eye Gem's larger in all eye-based textures. They need to fill up almost the entire texture block. Didn't work. Wasn't that important anyway.

Vertex:
-Need to flatten chest. Done, looks a bit better now.
-Reduce forehead if possible When reduced more than now, it makes him weird looking, so it will remain the way it is unfortunately.
-Further reduce appearance of shorts Done as much as possible. The corners of the shorts still show up during  certain animations, but it isn't very noticeable.
-Attempt to put Gem on a "pedestal" of vertices.

I'm basically finished now. I just disabled the bones in his fingers that I removed and will be testing him in-game later today.

I've taken up a Marth vertex/texture of his appearance in the next ds FireEmblem. Should I keep the poll going as I complete this project, or put it off until I do whatever wins the poll (Aggron most likely)???

Sableye's looking pretty good.  Great work on the head so far.  Who is it over?  It looks like Ness or Lucas.  Anyways, I eagerly await it's release ^^
It's on Ness. My options were Ness, Lucas, or Tlink, but Ness seemed the easiest.

I told Aether that he was doing the texture wrong but he wouldn't listen. Sableye is closer to a saturated blue-violet, and he has him bright purple. I'm going to have to fix it myself I guess.
As you can see here, the color is completely off.


I'm going to smooth out his entire chest. Right now there is a crease and overlap where his shirt meets his shorts. Then pull back in the back portion of his shorts so they don't fold out during animiations. I also need to put some shading on his texture. That single colored style doesn't look right on him at all.

Well I made kadabra only have one head but its caused him to disappear for a second when hit. Here it is.


Thats odd. Is it because the face I changed was the one normally used during his hurt animation? Shouldn't be too much of a problem though. I could put a graphic effect on him during his hurt animations so it looks like he's teleporting when being attacked.

I'll finish up his model later today.

Yay for stalagmites.

I usually do my textures as I vertex, that way its easier to fix mistakes, and move things around. And I can fix/improve any accidental stretching from the vertexing. Guess it must be pretty hard to texture someone else's model.
I usually do my texture testing with Sai, because it saves layered pngs in one step, while photoshop and gimp bring up another window asking you to flatten and such. It's much quicker for me to just scribble over an area on the texture, replace it back in, see where the scribble is on the model, then measure and make adjustments based on that.

My version of 3dsmax doesn't show textures while I'm vertexing, so theres no real reason for me to make the texture as I go along.

Pik is doing Robo's texture. Once he gets it back to me, I'll finish up the model and get you all some pictures.

Wilttilt has started on a texture for my Bowletta model, so expect it to be added to the OP at some point.

Sableye's model is finished. Aether's supposed to do the texture, but if he doesn't do it within the next day or two then I'll do it myself.

It turned out pretty good. A huge step above Machop anyway. The only glaring problems I see are that his forehead could be lowered, other than that it's fine. I made his baseball bat into a huge stalagmite. Once it's textured it should be awesome.

Sableye preview:



-Still need to remove the backpack
-move eyes into correct position
-Make ears bigger
-vertex baseball bat into a stalagmite or something
-Vertex yoyo into a crystal
-Do texture
-Clean up stray vertices around leg.

Fingers have already been removed, I still need to disable the bones on them though.

Wow, at least you were able to patch your horns... That has been the hardest thing for me to do so far.



It took 25-30 patchs for each horn if I recall correctly.

Wilttilt saw the screen I posted and has offered to texture it for me. I didn't mean for this to turn into a competition  Oh shi~

Aggron shouldn't be much work at all. The body won't have to be changed at all asside from removing the collar and bracelets.

I don't think Adfro saw the post where I asked him to disable the other heads, I might message him about it. Once that's done, a few minor bodily edits and arm lengthening then the Kadabra should be presentable. I'll probably wait until I finish Sableye, Terry, and whoever wins the poll before I start back work on it though.

-Sableye's head is finished now.

Just made a few changes to the poll.

Sableye has been removed because I am definitely doing it. He's working great on Ness. Head is almost finished.

Goruggo has been put in his place. This is Goruggo for those who don't know who it is:

Kraid has been moved to Charizard because the entire body structure is already nearly perfect.

sableye should work over any short character.
like mario, luigi, toon link, ness, lucas...

I'm attempting a practice run of him on Ness right now, not sure how well it's going to turn out though.

... I have a finished Bowletta model. I made it a month or two ago, but I couldn't get a texture to look right on it, so I gave up.

So someone's finally starting a Nidoking? I attempted one on Bowser a while ago, but couldn't get his face or horns to patch correctly so I gave up.

I copied a chunk of texture from the surrounding area, pasted it and made each eye texture from it, and they still ended up different shades   Im srs here

I don't know, I'm just disappointed that his legs wouldn't work really. If they would have patched out right, he would have looked almost perfect.

btw, do you know how to set up a poll? I didn't see any options when editing my first post.

Terry is almost finished. I'm going to get some pictures of him later today.
Change List:
-Hat has been reduced to a cap
-Hair has been changed slightly ( I need to change it further, but it won't patch to correction) If someone thinks they can help with this, let me know so I can send you the file.
-Boots have been changed slightly
-Sword now floats in front of his hand (has been roughly textured as a Sabreman. Still needs alot of work to refine the texture)
-Shield has been made round and textured as a MadMirror with it's wings folded over the front. With the lighting effects and reflectivity in-game it should look pretty good.
-Boomerang has been vertexed into a Dracky. (Didn't go too well :/) His weapons have soo few vertices it's hard to do much of anything with them)
-Arrows have been vertexed into EvilWands (Didn't go too well :/)
-Bow is now textured as a Slime
-Overall Texture has been done roughly

How do I set up a poll?  I was going to let people vote on my next project but don't see any options for a poll.
