^ This. One thing most stage modders needs to remember is that not all Smash bros. stages have animated characters. Kami's Lookout seems like a weird stage to adapt to Smash Bros., best of luck to ya pal
I agree. Kami's Lookout really doesn't even belong in brawl, but guess what? I don't give a [censored] because I've been working on this project for a year and a half, going from model to model, texture to texture, program to--yeah, you get it. It's finally being done.
Edit:
There it is. It has few personal modifications, most noticeably the lighting. I've made it come from the west since the Kami's Lookout that I'd been basing this on had the sun in the west. This also gives it a more unique and beautiful look to it as I see it.
Does you going to put some stuff on the stage? Like some character training and see Mr. Popo and Dende?
I'm not, because I have a few weaknesses with animations. I also think animations such as that would easily ruin the stage. It makes me cringe when I see it in others' stages.
I've surpassed yet another weakness I've had: Fog. Makes me feel confident that I'll continue to get better. With that being said, I've added a blue fog to Kami's Lookout. I just need to improve it, along with the lighting on the floor, then add shadows to some of the objects, and it'll be ready for a beta release.
Yes, it's a sideshot. The sun is in the opposite direction of where the camera's pointing. It's also far from finished, as I'd mentioned in an earlier post.
Fine by me but I may not be able to do it until next Friday.
Finals and [censored].
Indeed.
Well, that's fine. I progress slow, and this spec map thing isn't working out for me. I seem to be doing all this [censored] correctly, but testing it in-game proves otherwise.
I may require your services in later projects, as I expect things like this to happen often.
I've changed my mind. I want to get a beta version of Kami's Lookout done. How does that sound?
Stuff to do before release: -Add spec maps to the floor (maybe to the structures as well) -Perfect the lighting -Improve the textures -Add shadows to the stage objects -Maybe add fog
I also want to improve the water on Planet Namek. The water looks a bit stagnant to me. I plan to add a spec map to the water similar to the spec map used in the water on the Smash Skiff stage.
Better preview. I gave the ice a shine, though I can't tell for [censored] if it's there or not. Gotta credit DSX8 for straightening a few things out for me with my logic of texture matrix.
It was always one of my favorites, but it had one problem. Due to the design of the cave that I used as the background, there was one leaf that showed up when people were off the right side of the stage. It looked something like this:
Notice Meta Knight gliding behind that leaf. Sure, I could have fixed it by shifting the background in a different way, but everything else about the stage was so perfect that I didn't want to move it. I couldn't delete the polygon or the materials because it was shared with the other leaves in the stage.
Well, guess what the new BrawlBox allows you to do?
I finally got rid of that leaf that's been plaguing my stage for so long. I always knew that it was possible, but I lacked the tools to do it myself, and I didn't want to have to ask someone else for help. I went ahead and deleted the entire vine that used to be there too, just to ensure that your view of the stage will be completely unobstructed no matter what the camera does.
Again guys, it's far from done. I wanted to import a few models from SMG and put them in the background. Trust me, this is definitely not how it will stay.
Well, apparently you all think the aurora is fine, so I could leave it corrupt as it is.
Hey. Legacy. Im sorry I havent sent any info back yet. My SD card died and Im getting a new one tomorrow so I'll PM you the new stuff when I get my new one tomorrow.
Appreciated, but next time, I'd suggest telling that to me in a PM.
