SFX hacks are really easy with SuperSawndz and the RSBE code (replacement sound bank engine). I found out how to do it myself honestly.
But yeah, you can't open .sawnd files. They're meant to only be used and not edited... You make your own .sawnd file by using SuperSawndz.

Alright, first make sure you got your .brsar file in the same directory as SuperSawndz, and then start up SuperSawndz.
Announcer calls are in 4 different soundbanks:

menu
melee
menu
characall

Fortunately, they're all near each other on the list... For an easy way to find them, click on one of the names on the right window so that you can highlight them, and then just press "m" on your keyboard 'til it takes you to "menu".

Once you find "menu", click on the "+" buttons and then click on the 3rd from the top "+" button. Then you can click on all of the "audio" files and hear what they are. From here, go ahead and listen to the other announcer soundbanks, "melee", "menu", and "characall". (Yes, there is a second 'menu' soundbank)

Now to replace them. Highlight the audio file you want to replace, and click on the "..." button on the top left under 'Input File'.
Select the .wav you want to put in over the old one... and then press "Insert" and SuperSawndz will work it's magic. Repeat this for all of the .wavs you wanna put in.

OK, now I typed all that up before realizing you aren't using RSBE.
So you're just sticking with editing your .brsar right? I forgot why I prefer RSBE, but sticking with the .brsar's even easier. After you insert new SFX with SuperSawndz, I think it saves the changes to your .brsar automatically. So once you're done inserting the new sfx, just make sure you move the .brsar in your SuperSawndz folder onto where it needs to be in the SD card.

This is looking to become the greatest custom flyover stage (that the right term?) I’ve seen on the vault. Large, scenic, and a lot of nice landmarks picked for fighting. Flyover stages are the best because they’re like multiple stages in one Plus, with this stage we get to fight IN the town instead of just on a platform in front of it. To quote D1, "Well, at least it's better than the PM Skyloft"

Alright, so I'm using Mewtwo's stable codes with Riivo, ProjectM 2.6, and stage expansion... In my game I'm unable to select Squirtle's, Charizard's, and Ivysaur's cBliss costumes. They are limited to 5 costumes while every other character still has 10... I dunno, it's just them... and since pokemon trainer is always so strict and complicated when it comes to hacks, I don't think its something i can figure out. any ideas to fix this?
oh, and also I'm still looking forward to the 16 slots code how's it coming along?

I didn't use it much because holy crap i got so mad when I saw that the creator intentionally gave Ness, Lucas (my personal favorites), and Toon Link horrible, crappy and unplayable joke movesets. that was a while ago and i don't think much of it now, but sheesh... 

Anyway, back then when i first downloaded that, I replaced their joke movesets with actual OP movesets (dont remember which) to balance them with the rest of the cast. Peach didn't have a moveset apparently; my folder for her was empty and her name is not listed anywhere in file's readme. I'm pretty sure that's the only thing I changed though. Would it be ok to re-upload it like this even though i changed a few things and thus it's not really the creator's original upload?

phew. that's... 26 in all from me. And I didn't know about this thread til like 3 days ago... More people should get in this, cuz I was surprised to see how many I had backed up o_O I saw a TON of hacks that I remembered using for sure, but are now deleted or lost... This thread has taught me a valuable lesson to organize and never delete a single hack ever again

Edit the xml and change every instance of these lines:

<folder external="/brawlmods/vbrawl/fighter" disc="/fighter/" recursive="true" resize="true" />
<folder external="/brawlmods/vbrawl/info" disc="/info/" recursive="true" resize="true" />

By adding create="true" to the ends of them, ie:

<folder external="/brawlmods/vbrawl/fighter" disc="/fighter/" recursive="true" resize="true" create="true" />

They may appear several times in the xml, depending on how it is set up. I'm using an old modlauncher xml that I've added things to here and there over the years, but this should work with whatever setup you have.

thanks, worked exactly how i wanted it to! so far my cBliss is working flawlessly with Riivo and Project M; it doesn't even freeze with four Sheiks in a FFA. wish i could keep the P:M CSS though.

another question for anyone, are Jiggs' new cBliss slots compatible with ALL Jiggs hacks? cuz ya know, some (like Mega Man X helmet) only work for FitPurin02 (green sleepy hat) and others like Lady Bow freeze when placed on FitPurin02. i know i could test this out but is it even possible in the first place?
