When we report something, could the Staff please respond to us about it. Usually despite my current award, I feel that some of my reports do not take action. If there's a reason, I think we, as the reporters, should know why this hasn't happened. So we should be PM'd in a matter of 2 days about what does the Staff think of the report.

I agree with Vyse on this. Warning management should be -and will continue to be - confidential between the moderation team and the person being warned. What you are asking is too much of an invasion of privacy.

Someone tell me the kitten levels and how to get them?

I wanted to make enough posts to be on the KC-MM Team
Well, to answer your question, post count does not determine the status of a KC:MM team member. The most important things that are looked for are quality and activity.

I'll take this to PM's with you, picano Smiley

Is there anything I can do to try to help?

Useful Info regarding that post:
"Database Error
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator."

Do the logs that smf generates in the db have any other purpose than to just tell what errors occurred when and what activity goes on in the vault? Stripping some of those could save space and unclog the db, at least a little bit.

I'm pretty good with php and sql. I wrote two [simple] websites using them (and slightly customized a smf 2.0 on the second site). Only if you want me back, though...

IS, it's a different moderator. It's not favoritism. I don't know how else to explain this to you.
I did the thread with the most warnings in it. Obviously I didn't cover many of those because more people would have been warned. Vish has always consistently interpreted the rules and made appropriate actions regarding the situation. All other times that I can think of, only the necroposter has been warned as well. If you want to do the favoritism card, take it up with me because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who ever warned more than one person in this type of situation. Vish decided how he wanted to handle the situation, and that's the end of it.

Please, anyone, PM me if you feel I am wrong, I will talk it out with you, with a level head.

Bull[censored], you gave me a warning when i did the same to someone else.
Why are you trying to prove me wrong? I know I did that, and that's exactly what I am saying. In case you missed the context, PAVGN asked why the rest of the posters weren't warned. I said because that's the way how I do it and not the way Vish does it.

I would not change a thing if I could do it over again. As far as I am concerned, the thread was dead, it was bumped (warning) then there's off-topic discussion about how bad the necroposter is, meanwhile all the people mini-modding are still not contributing anything by doing so.

Just because we handle things differently doesn't mean that we are wrong. If Vish finds it suitable to only warn the one person, then it is up to him, and I respect his decision. If you want to take this up with me in private, I would be more than happy to talk it out with you in PM's because we are getting off-topic doing it in here.

Well, as Segtendo said, mods aren't here all the time to view a necropost the second it happens. Usually the only time I saw a necropost was when it was reported, and with people trying to mini-mod instead of report it, nothing can get done for hours. But don't worry about it. You didn't know. @PAVGN You don't know what time the warning was issued, do you? I can safely assume that the thread was locked around 4 EST today, and the first necropost was done at 9 PM last night EST. That's about a reasonable time for the mods to get to the report, especially if people post in it instead of reporting it, like they should.

@Miacis Oh my bad. I've never gotten that (and I know why haha). My mistake. Carry on Tongue
12  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Awards - Names, Descriptions, Complaints on: August 27, 2011, 05:23:46 PM
I really like what you are doing with the awards. It definitely shows how much the public helps the staff when dealing with problems. Hopefully this will help raise awareness of more necroposters, spambots, and other disruptive beings on the site. Keep it up; I can't wait to see what more you'll come out with. Smiley

In light of recent events... I couldn't help but want to bring this up... http://allisbrawl.com/fun/badge.aspx?id=121

It was locked. I think that's just a general practice anyway.

Yeah I'd like to know why the user who replied to the necropost, didn't get a warning as well?

http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=11886.0

Usually when someone replies to a necropost stating why they reply, that causes the necroposter to keep posting. Instead of using the report button as it should be.

I've seen cases where the user who replied to the necroposter got a warning as well.

So why are we playing buddy preference here?

Because that's how I warned people. Different person = different style.

On that note, can I suggest that the "old topic warning" be used? In topic settings (for the admins), there's a place to enter how many days before a topic is considered old, and if a user tries to post in that topic, they will get a message telling them that it is old. From there, if they continue, it's obvious that they weren't paying attention, and by all means give them a warning. This way too, it allows members to revive their personal projects topic without it being auto-locked after a set number of days.

User ShadowSnake still had his habit of advertising when he uploads.
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?ByUserID=3147&Moderated=All

And before someone says you can, I'll quote:
"Advertising: Encouraging users to visit other websites for personal gain. This does not include links provided when another user asks for them. This includes advertising texture teams." from the rules at http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=67.0

Let me quote more rules to clarify for you:
Quote from: the rules
Certain board rules also apply to BV submissions and reports :
    Flaming
    Trolling
    Spamming
    Disruptive Behavior
    Offensive Material

Notice how Advertisement is not mentioned in the rules that apply to the vault. It is okay to advertise in your own hacks, as long as you do not force the person to click the advertisement (by putting the advertisement as the download link instead of the download)
