Well, since I did do a few programming projects... Detailed information for each of these can be found on my Google Code page: http://code.google.com/p/stickmanhacks/
My first is the Offset Maker for the old school sfx hackers like myself. Based on the Wave0 offset that you feed into it and the number of Waves in a sound folder, this program will spit out a text file of the frequency and fix offsets of each sound (but not the offset of the sound itself unfortunately). This came in very handy when I was making full character voice replacements and didn't have the patience to do each offset by hand. Download:http://code.google.com/p/stickmanhacks/downloads/detail?name=Offset%20Maker%2005c.exe
And my other program is the Readme Makerfor hex packets. Unfortunately, this is a little dated too because Sawndz takes care of that with .dat files, but even those can be misunderstood. All this program does is prompt you for the offsets where the hex packets should go and then then it writes very detailed instructions for you so you don't have to explain to your users in a PM how to work it. Download:http://code.google.com/p/stickmanhacks/downloads/detail?name=Readme%20Maker%2003.exe
Each of these was written in C++ and the source code for each is available in the above site.
But if you have problems with that, Jaklub is your man for questions. I can really only help if there's a problem with the replacement process itself, which isn't dealt with in the program.
@Wave: picano controls the daabase. if he quits, there's no more forum. just saying. that's an exhausting job on its own. he of all people shouldn't have to deal with this nonsense.
Snap out of it. The next time someone posts out of topic, he will get instant moderation. Don't move any flame wars into here. This topic is what the title says, suggestions, appreciations, and reports
true. i think we do need to make the rules more specific... another project to do but necroposting is defined in the spamming part of the rules. i'm more lenient with the time between (i'd allow up to 3 weeks instead of the 1 in the rules - that's just me) but something like 4 months without contributing anything to the topic is just annoying. i recently just bumped 3 people on the warnings because of necroposting in one of my old topics because one person just said "thank you" and then the other two mini-modded instead of reporting the original poster. i agree that the rules can (and should) be more clear, but at least for necroposting, common sense should play some kind of role in it, shouldnt it?
i thought that avatars were automatically resized if they were too big? but there's a signature rule in there and it is specific with dimensions.
Let's keep the discussion on Sexy Mountain and not on Mr. Ludicolo's warnings. Vish and I are just doing our jobs and we would appreciate it if you don't encourage dodging the rules. I don't want any more discussion about it.
Riivolution will not be obsolete. See, what Riivolution does is making the game load files from SD card instead of the disc (AND apply codes). This does not work only with Brawl, but with other Wii games too.
Best solution? Use Riivolution. Or swap the files in ISO (like you may have already been doing before).
+1 what he said. Riivo can replace files in other games as well (MKWii custom maps and textures, TvC, etc) and it has the ability to use codes as well. I personally use the Brawl Mod Launcher for Riivolution because it makes it so much easier to organize textures, sounds, and everything else. I can't say I've used gecko since Riivo came out.
UPDATE 8/11/2016: Links and tools in this guide are no longer guaranteed to be found. Please use other, way more recent sound effects guides for all your needs. I no longer support any questions on this guide.
Welcome to the Official SFX Guide Thread! Here you will find the downloads to my sound hacking tutorials. If you click on the "Downloads" link, you will be taken to a page where you can download either my original beginner's guide to sfx hacking, or my advanced guide for replacing sounds in the brsar with even longer sounds. Check them out, enjoy, and happy hacking!
Having trouble making good instructions for your hex packets? Check out my Google Code page to download my Readme Maker program (get it in the downloads page). Tutorials/directions are available in the wiki.
STICKAMN EDIT: Perhaps we should call it stuff3's board?

Good fake, except for the fact the my "edit" happened before the post was made, I NEVER spell my own name wrong, you forgot italics, the << and >> are the wrong size, and the "Last Edit" doesn't show up in normal quotes. If you are going to be me, at least do it right Apparently we don't have a rule about (badly) impersonating an admin, so i'll just laugh at it now. Next time you get a two week warning...
