1  Super Smash Bros. 4 Hacking / Smash 4 (Wii U) Hacking / Recruiting for Smash U Maximum [Essentially Sm4sh Minus] on: February 06, 2017, 10:09:19 AM

Smash U Maximum is my take on making an "Overpowered" Smash 4. Inspired by Brawl Minus, the goal is to make every character exceptionally strong and fun. Everyone is broken in their own way, having things like Shulk's Monado Arts with no downsides, Peach with a 60% chance of pulling Stitch faces, Luigi with a 90% misfire rate on Green Missile, Link's boomerang having a hitbox on return that allows true combos, etc. Unlike Minus, I don't intend to take on the silly side of things, nor do I intend on falling into a competitive decline. That said, I do want characters to have power relative to others so that there's at least some semblance of balance better than Smash U. The point is for everyone to be over the top, and viable.

On top of the more drastic sweeping changes, the mechanics of the game have been overhauled as well. Removal of rage, slightly more vulnerability on air dodges, more shield damage across the board to allow for shield breaking combos and a less grab heavy game, less landing lag from air dodges, all those things. All of the characters have been modified heavily but most of them still need tweaks here and there to make them stand out.

I've spent hundreds of hours coding, balancing, and testing solo, so having more people for any of those would be great. However, what I'm really looking for are UI, Stage, Texture, and Sound people.

I've got huge changelists that I'll be able to put up sometime in the near future, but I'd at least like to know that people are interested in helping out before doing so.
2  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / True Tifa Lockhart FFVII/Dissidia PSA Progress Canceled? on: February 17, 2015, 08:00:42 PM

Hey look! Kien gave up on something that he was working on off and on for over a year and a half!

If someone wants to pick this up feel free to. I'm just dropping it off here since I don't feel like going through and finishing it on my own. It's a functional moveset as is, but the side B needs work and an animation. The final smash isn't coded either if I'm correct.

85% of the moveset is canon, taking most of her attacks from FFVII and Dissidia.
3  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Brawl Minus Recruiting PSAers and Animators! on: April 27, 2014, 03:54:59 PM
No idea if this is the right topic to ask. Since it's animators and PSAers I figure this is where it would get noticed.

We've recently added Pichu to our roster and we intend to add a few more characters. However, we need Pichu to be refined and we need more manpower if we're going to add anyone else. As we currently have about 4 people who actually know how to PSA and no animators.

If you're interested in joining reply here or send me a message and I can give you the specifics or whatever. It would be preferred if you had a Skype and Dropbox.

If you don't know what Brawl Minus is...

Brawl Minus is a mod that focuses on balancing the entire roster by making everyone super powered compared to their Vbrawl selves. Not powerful to the point that they're unrecognizable, but just giving them new options, and improved playstyles that fit them the best. Things that make a character who they are is what we focus on improving, and removing many of each character's weaknesses. We desire to create the most universally enjoyable game that we can so we work more closely to our player base than some other mods.

So as a dev and all that I decided it would be great if I did a bit of advertising and hopefully picked up a few people who never really understood what Minus was about. Now that Maximum is released, some things I neglected to mention in my extended absence... 10 modified stages, all characters have been modified aside of ZSS, new strap and title, tweaked menu aesthetics, new SSS, and quite a bit of balances or fixes to over half the roster. Download it now if you haven't already, and as always...

Any bugs you find, or even suggestions for characters are all worth listening to.

5  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / The Dusk Mage's Stage Reimagining Project on: August 20, 2012, 02:44:55 AM
Welcome to my stage reimagining project! This is just a side project for me, but it is quite a large one considering the effort I'm going to put into it. What my goal is in this, is to create a texture for EVERY Melee level that looks suitable for Brawl and for most Brawl levels that I think could use a good texture. I won't be using completely similar textures and thus my stages won't be simple HD replicas of their Melee counterparts unless I feel it best suits it. My reimaginings will always involve some sort of creative twist or a completely different theme. Not only that, but nearly every Brawl level will use the Scene Data (day/night cycle) of Battlefield. I found that level interesting and would like other levels to have that awesome feature. I've not learned how to edit backgrounds yet so those will be saved for V2's. So without further stalling... here is my list of stages to reimagine.

Melee Stages

Green Greens- Complete
Onett- Complete, Trying to reduce file size
Jungle Japes-
Yoshi's Island- Complete
Temple- Complete, will be improved before any others.
Pokemon Stadium- ? For some reason doesn't show up...
Big Blue-Planned
Rainbow Cruise-

Brawl Stages

Pirate Ship-
Bridge of Eldin- Complete
Spear Pillar-
Port Town-
Shadow Moses Island-

Will be updated as I make plans or progress. Pictures will be uploaded for criticism.
