Use pictochat, then rase the completel white background. easy as hell.
Picto Chat is also good, but I rotated the camera 180 degrees to get the blackness. But I prefer the Super Mario Land 2 custom stage now over anything else.
Well I used to use stages with solid backgrounds as well, but I really recommend you use this stage since it's in black and white and so obviously there are no shades of any kind at all. I use this stage all the time for my CSPs and it works great.
Ok thank you for clarifying that for me. But you you can just click recommended settings on it and you're good to go.
No problem and thanks for informing me of the "Recommend" button -- I always thought it was just saying it recommends the "Preview" is always checked since it was right next to that.
Well it is kinda spamming the Brawl Vault. You should enforce a rule to check the Vault for existing hacks before you make one -- that's what I always do. Otherwise the Brawl Vault will be overrun with duplicate hacks, each with very subtle changes due to its creator. Unless the Brawl Vault has unlimited space, then I guess it's ok to have duplicates.
Since we don't host any files ourselves --- it's pretty damn close to unlimited.
What are we doing if we're not hosting the files here? Just curious lol.
And pretty close to unlimited? Then that means there is some limit.

Well yea then... when you import it into brawlbox you don't have to have an ugly indexed picture.... Just click recommended settings and your good
So this whole time I never had to use GIMP to index my images because BB does that for you? Wtf, All is Brawl! >_> Only reason I always indexed because a guide on All is Brawl had it in like super important caps and red text.
Also, do I really have to index all images I put in my common5.pac? It makes them look so crappy. I always thought I had to index because it reduced space taken up in sc_selcharacter, but I use common5.pac now which has no limit.
This is just a little showcase for all the CSPs, CSIs, SSPs and SSIs that I have made to compliment the actual hacks they represent.
Just a heads up, my rendering skills aren't the best (I use the magic wand in GIMP), plus the black skin of this forum really brings out the white lines of the badly rendered ones, however I can assure you they do not look nearly as badly rendered in the game.
I also provided each portrait with a link to its respective hack, so just click on the image to be taken to the hack it's for.
What RLE Compression does is compress the TarGA image to reduce memory.
A 256x256 pixel TarGA image with an Alpha Layer uses 256 KB when it's not compressed. With RLE Compression, it'll use less memory, depending on the image's quality.
Ok so when GIMP brings it up before I save, I should leave RLE checked and the compression at "Bottom Left"?

I just want to try something first. Do you have to rename whatever you add to be the same as what it replaced? Because I'm not doing that, maybe that's the difference.
What do you mean? When replacing anything in your common5.pac, no renaming of any type is required. Just simply right click and replace the desired SSP, SSI, stock icon, whatever.
Yeah. I've tried a bunch of things- CSPs, SSPs, stock icons... everything freezes at the point it should be loading. Everything is as it should be as far as I can tell. Sigh...
Hmm... Maybe you could send me your selmap so I can inspect it and I'll try it out in my game to rule out if it's just you or not? If you're gonna give it to me (lol that's what she said), I'd like you to tell me all the stuff you added to it as well, just so I can locate them if I need to.
Alright. I PM'd him, showing him the hacks he reported and his reports that he made. I told him why every report he made was stupid.
Last time I asked him why he reported my music hack because it had a broken video when it didn't, he gave me a reason that made absolutely no sense, then spammed a ton of smileys. He even made a second private message saying "continuing from my last PM" and then put a whole bunch of other smileys there. I reported both PMs to the admin for what seemed like spamming/trolling.
I have Riivolution, I don't have those folder things. I just checked, and I don't even have an info.pac in there. Anyway, I'm going to see if I can find an untouched common5, as the one I downloaded already had some texture stuff on it, maybe something already in it caused the problem.
Sorry -- I have my modlauncher.xml set up to emulate the file patch code file system, so that way if I ever need to switch back to Smash Stack/Gecko from Riivolution, I won't have to move anything around.
Also, don't know why it's freezing when you added the SSP -- sure it's the same dimension and format as the one you replaced?
