YES! I finally got it to work! Now all I have to do is re-add shadow, and I added the Disable Custom Stages code for no freezing. (I think that's what you said.)

Great. You should experience no more freezing unless when you put Shadow in there his CSP gets the sc_selcharacter.pac over its size limit or if he's a bad hack.

What codes? the old ones?
Not all people have old codes that are not already in the provided, not all people even want/need their old codes, not all people know how to make GCTs.
So unless SpacePirateOverlord had old codes that he wanted, or loads Gecko through Smash Stack he just wasted time, when he could of downloaded the 2nd GCT since he didn't want the alloys.

Well I didn't know if he wanted to use the pre-made codeset or not. That was my case so I just automatically assumed he wanted the same.

Yea export as RSBE01 and put it in your codes folder.
Or you can just download the 2nd GCT
GCT: Contains Brawl Essential, Custom CSS Essential & Brawl Optional
Which saves you time contrary to what specter said.
You only need the disable custom stages code if your loading Gecko through the Smash Stack exploit.

No because then you have to add the codes to that GCT. That's why I said just add it to the one you already have. It saves time because you don't download anything.

Alright, so I copied all the codes (exceot the Giga Bowser/Wario Man/ Alloys codes) into a TXT file, opened it with the code manager, checked what I want, then exported it to my codes folder, is this correct?

EDIT:
I think I figured out the problem, I put the codes in private > wii > app > RSBE > pfmenu2
I think (after reading the first post better) I was supposed to go  private > wii > app > RSBE > pf > menu2.

Yeah, that's right.

No codes should be in any other folder than the codes folder on the root of your SD card. Menu2 is only for the character select and stage select screens.

Wait, I thought the file he had at the bottom of the post were for people who don't know how to make codes. Shouldn't that mean I should just be able to insert them and put it in my codes folder? That's what it said. I downloaded "GCT: Contains Everything Brawl Essential, Custom CSS Essential, Brawl Optional,
Giga Bowser/Warioman/Alloys Codes" and right above it, there was text stating that I just had to put it in my codes folder at the root of my SD card (which I did.) Also, would you happen to know why if I go to the SSS, I HAVE to click random to select a stage or the game will freeze?

That's what it's for, but like ASF said if you have other codes you'll have to add those too, which is why I said just don't bother downloading the GCT from here and copy the codes yourself and just paste them into your original GCT. It will save you time.

Also, about the SSS freeze, make sure you have Disable Custom Stage code on (I told you people will be having this problem, ASF1nk Tongue).

Thank you very much for this clear answer..

Just a couple more questions.. I havent try what you told me to do yet, but i was wondering if i need to launch Riivolution to take into consideration the modification from that .pca file or if simply launching the geckos OS thing would allow me to play with mewtwo?

With what i understood in the op, and what i already tried out, i think i need to launch Riivolution, right ? But right now, it tells me i need to reinstall ios37, so i gotta get a network connection.. -.-"

No you don't need Riivolution; it works with anything. I use Smash Stack and Gecko OS and I use that kind of stuff. Riivolution is the same as everything else except you can do movie hacks and sound effect hacks, and it also offers infinite space whereas Gecko/Smash Stack has limits on certain file sizes before it will freeze your game.

Well, I read the thread and I did what it said (except to remove alloys, I removed them once but the character slots were still there.) I renamed the selcharacter and selmap files, put them in pf/menu2, I downloaded the code file with everything in it. (the very bottom one.) and when I load up the game, my CSS looks like the normal SSBB one, except with 6 extra character slots for the alloys. (Also, just in case you didn't know, I don't think using more than one alloy is a good idea for a brawl, I used all four and it froze.)

Did you add the codes to your original GCT using Code Manager? You said you downloaded the code file, but you're supposed to copy and paste the codes into your old txt file, use Code Manager and export it to your GCT.

And I was able to use all four Alloys once without a freeze. Make sure the 4P slot is an Alloy if you're planning on fighting one in an FFA, otherwise it will freeze if any other slot has an Alloy. It should never freeze if the Alloy is in the 4P slot. Works for me all the time.
729  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: December 07, 2010, 12:33:13 PM
Is it possible for me to report somebody?  There is a user called KeyBlader.  He's a noob, but he keeps needlessly trolling and flaming Hollow and his PSAs.  I believe he is breaching the following rule:

Quote
Trolling: Posting with the sole purpose of annoying other users, provoking flames.
Examples: Going into a person’s texture topic and saying “You suck” without offering any actual criticism; posting false information.

Therefore, I think he deserves some sort of warning and/or punishment for breaking the rules and annoying not only such a renowned member of our community as Hollow, but quite a few other people as well.

It is possible. Just click "report to moderator" in the same area as one of his posts. It's right down here V

Hey guys !

I read all the op, and it seems i cant find where to put the .pac files i downloaded..

I tried to put them into the character folder that should match.. And nothing happened..

The .pac files i downloaded are the ones for the super mewtwo and they are named FitLucarionMewtwo.pac, FitLucarioMotionEtc.pac and FitLucarioNoMewtwo.pac..

So what should i do with those in order to play that super awesome mewtwo ?

Thanks for the help, and sorry if its kinda obivous, but i really couldnt figure it out by myself..

Thank you again Smiley

Rename FitLucarioMewtwo.pac to FitLucario.pac. That's all you need to do and it should work. Get rid of FirLucarioNoMewtwo.pac since you do want to use him, so you wouldn't want the file that doesn't let you be him of course.
731  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: What's the size limit for sc_selmap.pac? on: December 07, 2010, 12:28:00 PM
Huh, so you say your SD card says 1.15MB, yet it didn't freeze? Maybe you should defrag.

I downloaded Smart Defrag 1.50, and it said my SD card (drive F) only has three fragmented files -- a FitSnake and FitLuigi MotionEtc.pac and a FitLuigi.pac -- out of 471 total files and directories. It also said I had 0.38% fragmentation. I just defragged it, though. It didn't fix the issue of my file saying it's 1.15 MB.

So, defragmenting complete but did not fix anything (just as I thought); what else would you suggest?

I believe to do that, you have to manually rename the file itself in the folder by right clicking and selecting rename.

I did that but it's just named "sephirothname.tga" and is still a PNG file.
733  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: What's the size limit for sc_selmap.pac? on: December 06, 2010, 09:00:37 PM
Have you posterized your images? It reduces the colors even more. GIMP does have an option for posterizing.

I don't think it will make any difference because these new icons are about 1+ KB smaller than before. Even without posterizing it should have decreased the file size by at least 12 KB (I have 12 icons and each are 1+ KB smaller than before). I'll try it anyway, though.

What should I posterize it to? Like the rate?

Also, is it ok that I keep editing the same icons and reducing their sizes?

Edit: I'm sorry, about this post, I was mislead. My SD card told me my sc_selmap.pac was 1.15 MB, but yet it did not freeze the game. This was the file with all the indexed at 100 colors icons. I think my SD card is in dire need of defragmenting, as I've had it for about three years and never once did it. It's getting senile.

Yes, agreed.
The reason I use SS is so i never have to deal with updates, its unpatchable.

Yeah. I use it because it's safer and, like you said, no traces will be left behind, won't ruin your Wii, and you can take it to a friend's. Only downside is it has so many limits.
735  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: What's the size limit for sc_selmap.pac? on: December 06, 2010, 08:13:54 PM
I think I have the colors of my thumbnails under 100 colors. I mean, you aren't gonna be zooming in on the thumbnails and expect perfect quality.

I replaced all my old icons with new ones indexed at 100 colors that are about a whole kilobyte smaller in size, yet my selmap's file size hasn't even budged a BYTE. In fact, it increased my selmap's size by 3 KB. Why?

Size before indexing all my icons: 1.15 MB (1,212,521 bytes)
Size after indexing all my icons to 100 colors and replacing old icons with them: 1.15 MB (1,215,742 bytes) (+3 KB)
Exporting the entire MiscData[80] and putting them on a fresh new selmap: 1.15 MB (1,212,521 bytes) (-3 KB but still not reducing past 1.15 MB)

Tell me how reducing quality of an image increases file sizes?
