796  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: My Music Freeze Issues on: December 03, 2010, 04:01:45 PM
I had this exact same problem not too long ago. Battlefield did play music, but sometimes it didn't. Whenever I were to go to it in My Music, it would freeze as soon as I pressed A. I found the Music Reset code worked for it. Just be sure to take it off after it works.

I would like it if someone could explain to me in your best detail the following terms:

-Vertex hacking
-Models
-Imports

I just never really understood what they meant.

Thanks.

Well the use of that codes seems to be needed in specific circumstance, and I would like to know these.
Most of us don't have that issue, those who need it did you have other code other than the one I provided? Did you at some time used a Custom Stage code? What does this code actually do?
If you have the answers it would really help, understand the problem.

Your code was the only code I had on my GCT at the time. In fact it was the first code I ever added to my game; I had no other codes besides yours but the ones that came with the game. Every time I went to the SSS my game would freeze, and I was told on All is Brawl to add the Disable Custom Stages code. I did this, and it worked. I don't understand why I need it only if I added your code to the game, but whatever the reason it worked. Also if you read the conversation I had with the person on the previous page he also had the same problem as I did.

I think it might only be an issue for Stack Smash users like myself. We can't have custom stages if we're playing Brawl Minus, as Stack Smash is disguised as Gecko OS as a stage and cannot coexist with other stages. This is probably why the code needs to be added because the game still thinks you have access to Stage Builder when you don't, so the code probably just tells the game to remove its use completely and thus freeing up some space or RAM or whatever that the Wii needs to run the game properly.

That's my theory on it, but I don't know for sure if it's right.

In Photoshop use the Blending Option of Outer Glow

Also
Anyway, I think ASF1nk should post a warning in the OP somewhere telling anyone that uses this code have Disable Custom Stages on, as it seems to be becoming a problem.
Can you please elaborate on that?

Can GIMP do it? Because that's what I use.

What's there to elaborate? I'm saying warn others to have the Disable Custom Stages code turned on when using this code or else it will freeze at the SSS, as this has already happened to a few people already including me.

Hm, i can't use all these wonderful stages around here. Smash Stack doesn't work for PAL users and I can't use another method, because i have 4.3e on my wii. I also can't downgrade, because I have a PAL wii and there is no link for PAL users in this guide for downgrading.
I am not able to do ANYTHING :-(

I see. That sucks; I didn't know that.
801  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Portraits, Menus, (etc...) / Re: Proper format to save stage icons as? on: December 02, 2010, 11:51:25 PM
Well I have 12 hacked stages and I saved them all as indexed PNGs. Their files sizes are all around 3.76 KB -- that's good, right?

Also, when doing stage previews, I save them as 176x176 indexed PNGs -- sizes are approximately 25 KB.

Making myself custom stage icons but I just need to know what format should I save them as (.png?) (using GIMP by the way) and should I index the image?

I see there are CSPs for Giga and Company. Does this mean you can give them their own CSPs without making the normal character they're based on have the same CSP? If so, where can I access them?

Also, how do you produce the white outline effect?

Not yet.

Photoshop/MS Paint.

Yes, but how I'm asking.
804  Help & Tutorials / Help / Only Sandbags appear on this stage on: December 02, 2010, 05:55:21 PM
I'm using this Wi-Fi Waiting Room-based stage over Pokemon Stadium (Brawl), and I have every item turned on but the only items that ever appear are Sandbags. I have another Wi-Fi Waiting Room-based stage over Frigate Orpheon but that one has items appearing fine, so why not this one?

Ok, i tried it very often now. With "reboot" you mean turning wii off and on, right? I think i have done something wrong.

Yeah that's what I mean.
807  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: The Complete N00B's Guide to Brawl Hacking on: December 02, 2010, 02:28:29 PM
I dont get to the GeckoMenu. Any ideas? It's just the normal stage builder. (I have 0 Custom Stages on my wii)

It does that sometimes. What you need to do is reboot the Wii and try again. I have this happen to me sometimes and it's so annoying. When this happens just hold the power button for five seconds, then go back to Brawl and try it again. It took me as many as two reboots before I got it to work.

6. Put the boot.dol/.elf that you want to run on the root of your SD Card.
Where can i get that file?Edit: Solved!
And what would happen if i play a stage on wifi that is not just a skin?

Edit: What to do after being in the StackSmash menu? Do i need Gecko (or something else) or is StackSmash enough for using costum stages from the Brawl Vault?

If the person you're playing with does not have the exact same custom hacked stage as you on Wi-Fi, then you will desync, meaning that both players will not have the same results.

You need Gecko OS. Stack Smash is just this thing that disguises itself in the Stage Builder mode as the Gecko OS loader. Once you get Gecko, every time you enter Stage Builder you should be taken to a black screen with all this text on it, then the screen will turn green and weird, then you will be at the Gecko OS menu, then all you have to do from there is launch the game and it will load up all the stuff you have on your SD card.
809  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Black Stage of Death... on: December 01, 2010, 08:20:59 PM
Trust me, i'm sure.  Quadruple checked actually.  I also switched to the file patch code... still same old same old.

What's the stage your using?
and the rel?

This ^

Also, here are some more scenarios I can think of:

- Are you sure the stage you downloaded was made correctly by it's maker? It could be report-worthy in the Brawl Vault if you really are doing everything right.

-If the .rel file had to be hex edited (not saying you did, just saying if you did), make sure you did that correctly too.

-If it goes over a custom stage from the Stage Roster Expansion, make sure the .rel is an FD .rel; .rel files won't work on them unless it's an FD rel because that's the only stage the code was made compatible with if I'm not mistaken. And you can't hex edit .rels to make them compatible with FD either because I tried it and just got the black stage.

Wow that really sucks. I think I would have just lost hope haha.
Yeah, I'm surprised that it hasn't been added to the OP yet.

Btw, do you have any tips to turn off the wii mote on the CSS? Because as you know, the CSS Fix code makes it so you have to turn off a controller for the port to be empty, and I can't find out how to do it with the wii mote, so I always have the computer in when I just want to play my friends :/
What did you do to prevent this?

Tch, I literally did almost lose hope lol.

I don't use Wiimotes; I use Wave Bird GCN controllers. And what I do is I exit the CSS, take out all my Wave Bird receivers from the ports, then re-enter and everything's fine.
