1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Having issues loading mods on my Wii on: March 18, 2020, 03:07:25 PM
Hello to anyone who is still here!

So, I've been out of the modding scene for a very long time, and I'm very rusty on my knowledge. I'm trying to load up some of my old collection of Brawl mods, but I can't get anything to show up but a regular Brawl. Well, not completely regular. The codes seem to work, as my CSS is altered, but nothing really changed. I've tried running it through CFG USB Loader, and with the game disc. The result is the same. I've even tried running a pre-made modpack, PMEX: Remix 0.7b to be exact, but still nothing. The game just boots straight into the CSS, which I assume is a part of the coding.

So, in short, the codes register, but the mods don't. I swear I have everything where it needs to be. (Root:)/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf and all the rest. What am I missing?

Is there a more streamlined process to loading mods nowadays?

EDIT: OK, apparently I forgot I can't run hacks through a 16GB SDHC card. So, I dug up an old 2GB SD card and everything is working as intended. Problem solved!

Although... I could have sworn I read somewhere that there was a way to run hacks on any SD card of any size, but I didn't read too much into it... Was I mistaken? I would appreciate some clarification on this.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / How do I edit FitDedede.pac and the PKMN Trainer's Pokemon? [SOLVED] on: February 02, 2014, 11:26:56 AM
What am I supposed to do to edit FitDedede.pac? I've tried every version of PSA from the Resources section, and not a single one will open it. They all say "Cannot locate file data. Could not open file." All I'm trying to do is edit the sound effects for certain sub actions. I was able to open PKMN Trainer's Pokemon .pac files and edit it (with the version the readme tells me to), but when I select the characters in the game after editing them, it freezes on the CSS.

I've read that you can open and edit them with Brawlbox, but where in the file do I find the sound effects section?

Please, help. I would greatly appreciate it.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Character SFX manipulation on: January 19, 2013, 09:37:25 PM
So, I noticed in Project M that they found a way to get the unused pain sounds to work, where the characters have different pain sounds depending on how hard they're hit like in Melee. Not only that, but they've also made characters say different voice clips for their attacks. For example, Mario always had one clip specifically for his up smash and another one specifically for his down smash in Brawl. Now, in Project M, he uses more than one voice clip at random every time he uses his up smash and down smash.

What I would like to know is... HOW THE HECK CAN I DO THAT?! Is it a code? Is it scripted in the character files? I wanna know how to do these things for regular Brawl!
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Need help running Brawl hacks on CFG USB Loader on: January 13, 2013, 01:52:45 PM
Hey, folks. I'm trying to run my Brawl hacks on the CFG USB Loader. I'm able to load the game fine. I'm even able to run Project M flawlessly, but when I try to load my custom standard Brawl hacks that have always worked for me previously, the game crashes when I go to the character select screen. I'm guessing it has something to do with my Custom CSS code, but I have no idea what it is.

I can't even get them to work through Gecko like I normally do, whether it's through the Stage Builder exploit or the homebrew channel. I've never started having this problem until I started softmodding my Wii. After following all those steps to softmod my Wii so I could use USB Loaders, I have problems loading my hacks.

I'm fairly frustrated, and I could really use some help. Here are my codes if anyone can find something wrong in them.

5  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Making an orange Sonic. Need some feedback. on: January 01, 2013, 11:32:55 AM
Alright, I need opinions. The goal is to make an orange Sonic with black shoes. Cycle through these five pictures and tell me what'cha think, please?

http://imgur.com/HBtkW,mgfAK,OupxG,0A8di,hUfZO#0

The darker shoes are over regular Sonic and the lighter shoes are over Mewtwo2000's color fix. The fifth picture shows them both in a spinball. Regular Sonic is on the left, color fixed Sonic is on the right (who appears a bit red).

Thanks in advance. Been working on this one color for 2 days now trying to get it to my liking because the shoe shine kept screwing things up.  Im srs here
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / [SOLVED] How do I make the characters in Hanenbow 3D? on: August 22, 2012, 08:27:25 PM
I have a 3D stage over Hanenbow, but the characters are still 2D. How do I make them 3D?

I did a search before I made this topic, but all I found was a code that turns Hanenbow into the Online Practice stage, which is not what I want since I already have a stage over that separately.

Post Merge: August 24, 2012, 03:30:39 PM
Please, does anybody know what I have to do to make characters in Hanenbow 3D? Do I need to implement a code? If so, what is it?

The folks behind Project M were able to do it with their Skyloft stage. There has to be a way!
7  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Giga Music (My BRSTM Thread) on: June 30, 2012, 08:01:30 PM
Hello, everyone. I'm here to share my music with you all.

First, all of my Brawl Vault submissions:
"Hey You!" (Mini-boss theme) from Paper Mario
Palm Tree Groove from Donkey Kong Country Returns (I made this from an OST album that doesn't loop the same as it does in the original game. I think you might be better off getting brawlcustommusic.com's version when they get back online if you want the correct version.)
In a Strange Land (Sweet Dream) from Mario Party 5
Cherry Bom Storm from Okami
Treasure from One Piece Grand Battle
Gesellschaft (Clear Skies) from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
The Forest Navel from Pikmin
Awakening Wood (Olimar version) from Pikmin 2

Now, I would like to show you my latest BRSTM. It's a custom loop of the OC Remix titled "Kirby Super Star Floating Islands of Grand Beach Manitoba OC ReMix."
Short title, isn't it? I love the song, though. It's made by Double A Ron. Here is the Brawl Vault link: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=27359&Vault=audio. Here's a preview.
OCR00868: Kirby Super Star Floating Islands of Grand Beach Manitoba OC ReMix [Float Islands]

I would really like to know what you think of this one. How is the quality? Does it loop well? All that jazz.

Oh yeah, no requests at this time. When I make BRSTMs, I have my own personal uses in mind. For example, if I find a new stage I like and put it in my Brawl, I search for music that best fits it. If I can't find a looped BRSTM of it, I make my own. I also want to make sure I'm making quality BRSTMs. I don't want to take someone's request and give them something they're not satisfied with.

Maybe I'll take requests some time in the future, but not right now, especially when I don't have my massive music collection available to me at this moment.

9  Help & Tutorials / Help / Item Spawns on: June 22, 2011, 11:25:37 PM
How do I change item spawns for a stage?

More specifically, I want to change the item spawns for FroznHobo's version of Metal Mario's stage that I have replacing Online Training stage. I don't have any Sandbag problems. I actually figured out from somewhere on this site how to change the spawns so it's not Sandbag all the time, but I forgot where it was and can't seem to find it again.

Anyway, the problem I'm having is that whatever I set it to long ago (and it has been a while), there are items that spawn in the center of the stage, and items that spawn outside the stage to the left in one specific spot that's really close to the stage itself. What do I do to make all items spawn on the stage?
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Textures of Stages on: May 17, 2011, 05:27:05 AM
Hello.
Is there a list of what each file in every stage represents? For example, which texture file represents the monitor screen of the Melee Pokemon Stadium (which I actually really need to know, but if there's a list for all stage files, that'd be dandy)?
Could one of the palette files represent the color of the monitor screen? If so, which one?
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / SERIOUS help here! on: January 12, 2011, 09:52:23 PM
Okay, so I load up Brawl normally, no codes, no anything. I go in the photo album, I look into my non-hacked SD card that has some snapshots I took of texture hacked characters. I click on one of them, and all of a sudden my game freezes and makes the buzzing/beeping sound.

This JUST happened, and I have never had a problem with this before. I have been able to view those snapshots perfectly fine until now. I need some serious help.

EDIT: Okay, I went back into my game, and for some reason, every picture works fine when I click on each one individually, and when I scroll through them like a slide show. I really don't understand why my game froze all of a sudden. That is just painfully random.
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / I hate to sound picky, but... on: January 05, 2011, 06:59:18 PM
Okay, so I've been working on a custom strap loader. The problem is that the text for MenBoot00_En keeps stretching to what seems to be a fixed size, and no matter how much I edit the size of the png, it always ends up being the same fixed size in the strap loader, just reshaped to fit that size. The reason this bothers me is because I am trying to use this picture (lovely picture, by the way), which I have resized to 232 x 328 to use for MenBoot03, and the white space around the text keeps covering part of the picture.

Now, I know this may be sounding picky, and I know I could easily live with this, but I am very interested to know of any way I can fix this without shrinking the picture any smaller.

15  Help & Tutorials / Help / Question about stage hacks... on: December 25, 2010, 06:07:40 PM
If I download a stage that uses Battlefield as a base, is it possible to have it take the spot of Final Destination, or, let's say, Custom Stage 0?
Is it possible to add an extra stage slot?

If it helps, I'm using "Balanced Brawl" and Gecko OS through the Stage Builder exploit (no homebrew channel).
