1  Help & Tutorials / Help / I'm going to need some help with something. on: April 23, 2011, 06:45:20 PM
Do you guys/gals know or remember the Sonic hack where Sonic has glasses, it was made by shock44. Well its basically, to my knowledge at least, a striped down model of Jeff placed over one of Sonic's animations, the animation is then edited in Smash Attacks so it is constantly visible. Well I tried doing this with another model and it wouldn't work, in brawl box the model is blank, even though I brought over the textures, and in the game it just doesn't exist. So what should I do?

I could probably figure out the verrtex, but How would I go about making it always visible via PSA?

Alright, so I've have seen people put wings and glasses on sonic. Lets say I went through a similar process, and I vertex hacked whatever I put on sonic into hair like-thingys, and moved the things to be in the right position. Would it work? If so how would I edit the PSA so they are always visible?

So I'm trying to create a sonic fan-character in Brawl, problem is this fan character has hair thingys like amy but on sonic. I've tried everything I can think of to get a good vertex hack but sonic simply doesn't have enough vertex points. So is there any other way to do this, maybe a way to add something to the model and then vertex that into the hair things or not.

Is it possible to add or remove vertexes without brawlbox freezing or not. I know this sounds incrediably noobish its just I'm new to this. If it is possible than how do you do it.

I haven't tested anything in brawl let but the vertex I edited in 3DS 2010  shows up perfectly in BrawlBox. That is of course if you save the file in 3DS and then save it in Anim8or. weird.  I see what you did there ...
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / a few questions about 3DS Max on: December 29, 2010, 12:14:53 PM
So a friend of my family has 3DS Max 2010, and he is letting me use it for a while. Awesome Face Awesome Face Awesome Face

I have a few questions though:

1. what is it that people use 3DS Max for when it comes to SSBB hacking?
is it just vertexting or something more?

2. is it possible to veiw smash bros models in 3DS like brawl box or not?

3. finally I heard that it's possible to "mold" things in 3DS Max. Basically creating more complex models.
seeing as this is essential to me for making a character hack in brawl. Does anyone have a tutorial for
    doing this?

if someone were to port tails or amy over say sonic. Would the vertexs be similar enough to copy their cooridinates and apply them to sonic. credit would of course be given.
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / Vertexing on: December 27, 2010, 05:30:38 PM
so I'm creating a character in Brawl. I've recently started vertex hacking him using Anim8or, and I wanted to know if its possible to say copy and paste certain vertexes from different models too a specific model. For example taking the vertex of Tails' three front hair thingys from the model in green hill and paste or copy onto another characters model. If it is possible does anyone have a tutorial. please and thanks in advance.
I see what you did there ...

lets say I'm creating a character in brawl. I know very little about models I could probably create my own animations but creating the model is what stumps me. So I ask you, how do you add something to a model. For example say like adding the three little hair things on amy's head on to sonic's head, or creating somthing similar.
