Trying the OLD method for vertex hacking.

When ever I try to open/import vertecies into 3DS max I get this:

What vertex set are you trying. There are a few that need to be hexed in order to be read correctly.

link's hat is basically a classic example of having to hex, a lot of people run into this

When you do open it, though, it's basically uneditable. The cloud is so unreadable it's not worth it.

Actually Luigi's vertex set for polygon 0 needs to be hexed too.. I think, no it was the whichever one is used for his arms.

But anyway, the new method isn't going to help you if you can't even get it into Max.

What set are you trying to edit on who?

What's there to hex with mariokart's method, Oizen?

With his new script you don't even need to use DDVB.

yeah, don't mean to preach... but the new script is up to par with DDVB, to a point you dont need DDVB anymore.

like the script will import the vertex set as is. no conversion to *.3ds

you can edit the vert cloud(old method) and use the script to save the changes to the MDL0 as DDVB did.

the whole DDVB had one major flaw, which was the 3ds conversion. this script doesnt require this and is a more direct pipeline for max users.

here's a video I did to explain the new script to a blogger, but it shows the basic elements of what you seek.
