I've followed meowmix's idotproof guide which was hard to follow on some steps cuz maybe my photoshop didnt have some features like the magic wand, anyway, I made a few protraits and I wanna know if this is right. all I did was make it transparent then made the rest magenta then indexed it to the corresponding number. then I made it 120 x 160. and when i finished all that I put save as and made it a .tga is anything wrong with my pic: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r76/matt_kd/mattsssbbbportrait.jpg

Kinda hard to tell. Just run it through CUPASH's step 2 and see if it errors.

oh so if Cupash didnt get any errors then it worked? I got three folders, ones called info and in it is a portrite folder and in there is nothing. I heard that Im supposed to put my new InfFace.brres in there but after the cupash process finished, it didnt give me any new ones. are they necassary?

infface is for the in battle images by stock (I've never messed with them so can't say more than that). No they aren't really necessary.
If ya got something in system and something in menu then you're set.

Now I'm pissed, the portraits I made worked but they are all pink and the character is going diagnal repeatinly. also, I used .tga's that i got from texture downloads and it made portraits for textures I dont have
an another thing that pissed me off is the order of the textures are weird. I knew that link06 was his OoT costume, i deleted it so i can put feirce deity link so i put it as link06 but when i turned on the game the feirce deity link appeared on 05 and the OoT costume remained on 06 and my old 05 costume was gone
any reason why these two things happened?

Pink means that when you indexed... the color change from pure FF00FF to something else. To avoid this I always add my magenta AFTER indexing. (Not sure how in photoshop... but for GIMP...
As for it being messed up diagonally... Did you modify the size of the image at all? Otherwise, I haven't seen that issue since I modified ASH to work with GIMP.

yup, I changed the image size to 120 x 160, I think I'll either try indexing before adding magenta or try GIMP btw, I'm not too clear on how to index, what number do I put when I index the color?

wow 72 I put like 230 an crap xD so how does 72 look, isit visible enough ? oh and do you know where I can download a fresh common5.pac? I got someone elses and thats why i got portraits for textures i dont have

that common5_en.pac was fresh right, no custom portraits?
I got .tga's from texture downloads and I think those are causing me to have custom portraits for textures I dont have
