Hi, I'm completely new to all of this, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I followed the guide to the letter, but I have no idea why none of anything is working. I have a 2gb sandisk, I got homebrew, riivolution, and ocarina on my wii, and I want to get this mod http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=34126.0 running on my wii. Sorry for being so vague, I just have no idea what the issue could be. I've tried just about everything, and looked for help on so many sites.

Well... hello. I'm one more guy seeking for help on how to make the texture hacks work. You see, I already have the Homebrew Channel and tried to install some new textures for SSBB characters, but nothing seems to work for me. Yes, I have already read not only this guide, but many other ones out there. I have even watched a couple of tutorials at Youtube, but I get no results.
I have a NTSC-U Wii and Panasonic SDHC 4GB card. I insterted the latest Gecko OS version in an "apps" folder, made a "codes" folder where I put the "RSBE01.gct" file, made the needed directories "/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/(characters". I made a folder for each and every character, downloaded some texture packs for many of them here, at Brawl Vault. I proceeded to extract the respective .pcs files into the corresponding folders, renamed them to the "Fit(character)01.pcs/Fit(character)02.pcs, etc" formula. I put my SD into my Wii, ran the Homebrew Channel, ran Gecko1931, then the SSBB game disc and everything... I even got the message saying "SD Codes found. Applying...", but when I select the characters for which at least a new texture was supposedly added, nothing happens. The fight starts normally, as if nothing was done. Even trying to change the character's costume is useless. The same happens with the stages: downloaded some new textures for a couple of stages, renamed them as the guide said, but nothing...
I honestly don't know what to do anymore, I have been trying to make these work since almost a week ago, with no results. What might I have done wrong?
Thanks in advance!

For Gecko you need to use a 2 GB sd card.  It will not work with 4 GB or higher.  Other than that it looks like you did it right.

What do you mean?  All I would suggest is not updating your wii.

So going online and doing wi-fi battles, etc. would be fine, then?

If the people you fight have the same hacks, then yes.  If you are only using texture hacks, then yes.  Otherwise, it causes desync.

For some reason my game starts on gecko, but I can see nothing, just black screen.
Riivolution can't start it at all.
I followed the guide step-by-step.

how do you use the buffer code?

buffer modifier [original Phantom Wings]80000000 80623320
80000001 00000000
60000006 00000000
60000003 00000001
4A001000 00000000
4A101001 00000000
36000000 00000032
58010000 00000004
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000060
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000068
30000154 00000009
1400015C 0000000X
14000150 0000000X
E2000001 00000000
80100001 00000008
62000000 00000001
E200000F 00000000
80000001 00000000
80100000 00000244
62000000 00000000
E0000000 80008000

Well, I know im supposed to change the X es but I don't understand to what. If I want there to be zero frames of buffer, what am I supposed to change them to? Please help.

This is a PAL code for buffer modifying. You'll need it to efficiently use the melee airdodge hack.
If you don't reduce the frames on buffer you'll shield, spotdodge or crouch after you've hit the ground making for bad wavedashing...

Hey, I can't get my textures and CSS to work. I'm using GeckoOS for my Wii, and it's NTSC. I have the Yoko Littner texture for Zero Suit Samus and both the .pac and the .pcs files are in \private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\fighter\szerosuit. The CSS that I have isASF1nk's Dark Flaming Blue CSS and SSS. The files are both in private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu2. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

I downloaded Yoshi's Stream and uploaded the STGCRAYON.pac to the correct folder but the transitions go back to normal. I couldn't find any other files I would need to rename like _01 or something.

STGcrayon is the only file in charge of that stage, theres a track in there that uses TWO brstms, one being for winter season, and the other for the rest of the seasons

in winter transition, the game ends brstm1 and loads up brstm 2, when winter ends, it ends brstm 2 and loads up brstm 1 i think the brstm calls are timed by the rel :/
you can use my brstm copier to find out what that other slot is or look up the song IDs and make a copy of the song over that other slot as well, though note, your song will restart when the winter part of the stage hits
