If I download a stage that uses Battlefield as a base, is it possible to have it take the spot of Final Destination, or, let's say, Custom Stage 0?
Is it possible to add an extra stage slot?

If it helps, I'm using "Balanced Brawl" and Gecko OS through the Stage Builder exploit (no homebrew channel).

Yes by using Rel files. Google brawl stage Switcher and find rels in the vault Rescource section in data parition.

Or you can hex edit the .rels with HxD like I do -- works the same as Stage Switcher.

Is it possible to add an extra stage slot? If you use the Stage Roster Expansion by PhantomWings then yeah probably.

    IMO, Stage Switcher is easier.

    Thanks, guys.
I'm actually trying to use the stage roster expansion code by PhantomWings, which I got with Mewtwo2000's "STGCUSTOM Pack 2." The thing is, though, I'm not sure how or where I'm supposed to implement the code. I tried replacing the existing RSBE01.gct with the RSBE01.gct that came with Mewtwo2000's stage pack, but all that did was freeze my game when I went into Stage Select.
    Any ideas?

Yeah but I could never get it to work -- it always would give me an error that said "could not find file '/rel'", so I was forced to learn how to hex edit them.

    Thanks, guys.

You may need the Disable Custom Stages code. Just open the .txt that came with Mewtwo2000's pack and paste it into there, then use Code Manager to export the .txt as a .gct and you're done.

    Code:
    Disable Custom Stages

Oh snap! It works! Thanks, specter!

Now, I need to figure out how to replace some of Mewtwo2000's stages with other stages. I'll let you guys know if I need help by bumping this thread.

    Thanks, again.

    No problem.

Just rename your downloaded stage to "STGCUSTOM##.PAC".

I tried that. I used a Battlefield-based stage to replace a stage that used st_final.rel. The result was a stage with an invisible floor. I also tried the stage switcher. It works with the game's original stages, like it should, but when I tried to use it for the "CUSTOM" stages, it froze the game when I selected the stage.

This may be the part where I'm stumped. XD I take it I need to make my own modules for these stages?

I think Stage Roster Expansion is only compatible with Final Destination-based stages. I tried putting a Battlefield-based stage over one of the customs, and it didn't work. I then tried hex editing the rel to change it to FD, but it doesn't work.

So yeah. Unless we're both deprived of some information about this, I'm pretty sure you can only used FD-based stages with custom stages. No .rel file in the world will make it work because the .pac file itself has to be based off of FD.

Actually it depends on what roster expansion system you're using
The latest one can be edited to work over any stage via rels

I'm using v2.0. What's the one with support for any stage base?

I believe I have v2.0, according to Mewtwo2000's Info.txt. So, I'm guessing that's not the latest? If it is the latest, then I am officially stumped.

By the way, that Info.txt lists the .rel files that each of Mewtwo's stages uses. One uses st_norfair.rel, one uses st_tengan.rel, and the other uses dxyorster.rel, so I don't think the roster expansion system only works with st_final.rel.

Yeah I remember that, but I don't know what the deal with that is but all I know is I tried to use a BF-based stage over one of the customs and it didn't work.
