this has never happened to me before. i converted a brstm file to wav. sound file using androu's brstm tool. when i go to edit the wav. file with goldwave, all i get is a green squiggly line, and i wouldn't playback there, nor in windows media player. i even converted the brstm file using the command prompt method and i got the same results. the length for every different song is 00:00:00. am i'm missing something, because i know my computer plays wav. sound files (tested). thanks in advance

Ok. I know what the problem is.
When you use Androu's BRSTM tool, it extracts the brstms into wavs that are a 32000 playback sample. You probably have a file that isn't 32000. Check it in Winamp.

k, if you really want the .wav, Androu's tool isn't necessary. You'll need WinAmp for this.

Once you have WinAmp, open it.

Open the "Preferences" dialog (press Ctrl-P)
    On the left, select "Plug-ins/Output"
On the right, select "Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in"
Click on "Configure" to choose a folder where you want to store the WAV file(s)
Click on "Close" to close the Preferences
Click on any one of the brstm files. Instead of playing, it will turn into a .wav

i'm sorry guys, but i'm having no luck with this. i can't find the actual plugin, but i did find something called file writer output plugin. i figured it would be similar. i did everything configure and choose folder thing. i opened the brstm with winamp and it's still 00:00:00. it doesn't convert it to a wav, unless i'm doing something wrong. it jumps straight to the end of the song, pretty much plays nothing. is there any other way or should i keep trying with winamp?

Here's the brstm plug-in. I assumed you had WinAmp along with it.

I'm assuming you know where to put it.

I was looking for that one, but the one I downloaded in your guide gave me something completely different.

Yeah, I fixed that recently. Didn't realize the actual plug-in wasn't immediately obvious.
