Alright, so I DL'd the gct for the SSS and everything works fine, at least until I try to select the first custom stage (which I've given a .rel, .PAC, and images for it (instead of just a white box with an X in it) ) it cheers for about 2 seconds, and when it starts to fade, Brawl suddenly freezes and goes HHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN (or beeeeeeep or whatever you wanna call it...)

HALP!? I seriously don't understand this issue...

You named everything properly and placed it in the right directory, correct?

Well, here's what I did in order.

1. DL'd stage: here
2. Took the .rel file for Final Destination and put it in the module folder and renamed to "st_custom01"
3. Took the .pac file for Final Destination and put it in the stages\melee folder and renamed it to "STGCUSTOM01"
4. Went to play the stage
5. HHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

What'd I miss....? T~T

Could be your .rel files. Where did you download them from and did you trying a different one?

uhm you can't just use any rel file, you have to use a edited one...

Exactly. It had to be one based on the stage you're trying to replace.

Are these okay to be using...? Or does someone have a link to ones that should work for anything...? T^T I'm just so confused... I mean, the Great Desert DL came with it's own .rel, but they didn't seem to work either... >~>

EDIT: Alright, this is sorta odd, but now I can get *one* stage to work (Cerulean City) but the other I added does not. I *did* note that I used the .rel from that link I provided for Cerulean City, while the Great Desert (Festival of Fear) and the other one (Citadark Island?) both had their own .rel files... I'm gonna try replacing them with .rels from that .rar that I posted about 8 lines above and see if that fixes it... *sighs and crosses fingers*

Sorry that I'm Double Posting, but I found out that for some reason, the .rels don't work unless they're EXACTLY made for this and that and what not.

In other words, here's what you can do to get your stages to werk:
    1. Go to teh Vault.
    2. DL your stage.
    3. Look at what stage it's BASED OFF OF, not the dumb discription, but the actual tag that says "Stage - ModelTexture - PICTOCHAT" or whatnot.
    4. Follow this link for every single .rel file.
    6. Find the .rel that your downloaded stage uses.
    7. Rename and replace.
    8. Prophet.
    9. Ignore both my grammar and counting errors.

Lemmie know if this ends up not working, and if you can find a reason why...

uhm the tag is not always right... but to be sure, you can open the stage with brawlbox, and there you have it, the base stage:P
and the rest should work if you name everything the right way and stuff

Unfortunately, this did not solve my problem. It still freezes (albeit a few seconds later, so it is quiet when it freezes instead of beeping).

I downloaded the link, and renamed the Pirate Ship one to "st_pirates.rel" so that it would work I could replace Pirate Ship with the Blue Moon Battle Ship V2 stage.

Heavenly posted in a thread I started about the same problem...it really must be common >.<

I'm pretty sure this is your problem. Here's what's wrong.

1.) I think Blue Moon Battle Ship is actually supposed to go over Final Destination.

2.) It doesn't sound like you edited the:
    38 A5 00 00 38 80 00 XX
    in the .rel to:
    38 A5 00 00 38 80 00 00
so that it goes over custom stages. You have to do this in a hex program.
(the XX depends on the stage the .rel is over).

No, see, this thread is ONLY for PhantomWings' SSS expansion. In other words, this only is confirmed to work if you're trying to replace the empty-slot stages, though it could also be what Guamboy's saying, how the .rel might need to be Final Destination.

Anywho, keep discussing. Again, this seems to be a VERY big issue that people have, and I'd love this to be the place where people get their answers from.

Thank you for responding! Problem solved!

I actually haven't used the custom stage code (haven't figured out how), but thanks to your advice I was able to put Blue Moon Battleship V2 over Final Destination (using the Final Destination rel from the provided download link, changing the XX to 02)!

    Thank you again.
