I turned on my Wii, only to be met with an error message, telling me to turn off the power, eject the disc, and look at the operations manual. I knew this would happen one day, but now that it actually has, I'm a bit depressed. I'm currently downloading USBLoader, but before I do, I gotta know if it will support my new portable USB hard drive, or if it's only limited to flash drives.

It did that to me before. All I did was turn off the power and restart the wii(hold
the power button for 5 seconds while it's on). And it worked again.

I don't think you understand what I mean. I enter Gecko and it will say "No DVD Found" This isn't just a freezing problem. I mostly just need to know if my external USB hard drive will work for Configurable SD Loader.

This why I don't use Gecko...Riivolution is the way to go! I know how you feel...that time when it happen to me  ...I was forced to go buy another friggin wii... |

This why I don't use Gecko...Riivolution is the way to go! I know how you feel...that time when it happen to me...I was force to go buy another friggin wii... I agree with you. Riivolution is the best,but this isn't the topic to discuss your opinion about Riivolution. |

agreed. save the Riivo vs Gecko stuff for the discussion & chatter thread, even if Riivo is better (although I make hax for both). anyhow, it's not just Gecko that doesn't read the disc. It's the Wii. I'm not buying another Wii when a new system is just around the corner, so I must use Configurable USB Loader.

I just mentioned that once and you guys are all on about it...anyways...there is another option...its probably the lens...you might need to manually replace it with a new one...

Like I said, I'm learning how to set up Configurable USB Loader. I finished installing all the necessary cIOS's, and it's starting up okay, so for the most part, I figured out what I was supposed to do.

Just use an external drive to play games using USB, my lens have been dead since 2010 and I just play using USB loader GX, that or use the old thrustworthy Game cube

No, but USB Loader doesn't play GCN games, so that's why he uses a GameCube.
