I know I know Arena Ferox....heres some progress for that...still some work needs to be done Looks amazing! So to resurrect a topic from the grave, how's Mercenary Roy doing?
I saw a new model in iwantgames thread that was like 100000 times better than mine. I really like how it's coming out so far. That stage looks great.
How does everyone feel about the new suit for Marth in Project M?
I really like it, though I would've preferred an accurate Sigurd skin rather that a design inspired on him. But the final product is so good, it doesn't really matter. I also read that they debated about using Awakening Marth. If they still want to use him in the future, I'd gladly give them my model. It'd only need a new texture to match better their style. |

Lucina was very much expected, very excited for that. Not excited that she's probably just a clone.
Now, Robin, that was the real wild card. Not to mention, a a pretty bad choice. Don't get me wrong; a magic swordsmen is a pretty wicked concept, but it doesn't change the fact that Chrom deserved the spot.
The last few reveals were pretty lackluster, IMO.

Chrom deserving the spot is debatable no matter how you slice it. I find a magic swordsman more interesting than just another plain swordsman. The fact that he's... the game's main character... is a pretty solid argument for Chrom's priority as the Awakening representative. The pecking order for Awakening was clearly Chrom, Lucina, and then Robin. Sakurai dropped the ball and went ass-backwards with this one. Defining Chrom as a "plain"/generic swordsman is a pretty tired argument; the fighting styles possible with a sword-weilding character can be incredibly diverse if you use your imagination. I love the idea of a magic swordsmen, I honestly do. But you know what else would be incredible in Smash Bros.? ... Goku. That doesn't really change the fact that he simply doesn't deserve the spot. As for your little quip about everything I say being "passed off as fact", I apologize: normally I give the other party in the discussion the benefit of the doubt, and assume they have the intellectual competence to come across my opinions and know that I'm presenting them as opinions without the need for some sort of disclaimer. The next time I speak my mind about anything, I'll place a gigantic, neon banner in my post saying "Watch out, here comes Amarythe with another opinion!" >_> |

Simple answer? Yes
Complicated answer: You'd need to manipulate Marth's SFX with Sawndz so that half of them are Marth-based, and the other half Lucina based. Then, you'd need to make a PSA with code that applies this one slot voice effect to each individual action. Assuming you're not well versed with Sawndz and PSA, I'd just bite the bullet on this one; making this sort of thing would be very time consuming and complicated, I regret to say. |

I can concede that Lucina can arguably be considered the main character, or at least they co-star equally. Kind of like an Ephraim/Eirika - Alm/Celica - Lyn/Hector/Eliqood deal, (though I'd call Eirika, Alm and Lyn the real stars). But for Avatar... eh. I understand he qualfiies as a reasonable candidate, for technically being the antagonist of Awakening. But to me, this is an issue of priority. While there's some room for debate between Lucina and Chrom, putting in Avatar before Chrom was just inexcusable in my mind. In fact, so many better FE reps could have been chosen, nevermind Awakening. It could be argued the Avatars from each game constitute different characters, too. Ana is a reoccurring character too, haha. But I'm being nit-picky.  I wouldn't be pissed if Chrom/Lucina appeared as a joint character, as Alts, and had a unique moveset. Than I'd honestly have no problems with Avatar at all. |

I can't deny that I'm in the wrong for going somewhat off-topic. But I just wanted to reignite the interest in this thread a bit.
One of the reasons I posted about Robin was because I thought I recalled someone working on an Avatar model, am I remembering that correctly?

In japan she's probably one of the most popular female characters, not just in Awakening but the entire series. I half expected to see her, but after Marth and Ike were confirmed I started to doubt it heavily, so when this was shown I was really caught off guard.
Robin and mostly Captain Falcon really stole the show though, I'm glad we have an FE rep that uses attacks that aren't just sword-based.

You have to realize Sakurai doesn't look at popularity alone, so this whole 'priority' deal is kind of pointless to bring up.
You know the reason he decided to put Greninja in as a new Pokemon rep? Because back when X/Y was still in development stages he took a look at some artwork and concept information and thought that he could be worked into Smash well and be fun to play as.
If a character looks good and has good potential to be a fun fighter, he'd consider ading them in, he probably saw the Avatar and thought that magic/sword moves would really change things up and be fun.
My only question is about Lucina, I know she's marked down as a newcomer but her moveset looks pretty identical to Marth. She's either Marth clone MK II or an alt model & voice. |
