What program do you use to edit textures? I mainly use Paint. It's so easy to use, and best of all, it's free! If I'm dealing with palettes, though, I edit with Paint and then index with GIMP. Personally, I find GIMP annoying. I've never tried Photoshop. How about you? Feel free to share your opinions!

    GIMP is all I use.

There are a few awkward things about it... but you get used to them. Hell, I got so used to the "Ctrl+K" to delete that when they changed the hotkey to just "delete" I immediately changed it back.

I use all 3, various reasons (Paint.NET for FS Eyes, Gimp for CSP/textures, photoshop for alpha layers, and indexing).

    I use Photoshop 7.0.  I really don't like GIMP and I haven't tried Paint.NET.

I usually use Paint.NET for things I can't do in MSPaint and XnView.  I don't do major image editing and creation, so I haven't ever needed anything more.  I'll look into GIMP if I ever I need to though.

I use photoshop CS3 for doing most of the texture, CS4 for the the stuff CS3 doesn't have and photoshop 7 for alpha stuff.

I never used Paint.net, but I do use The GIMP to edit my textures.  Of course, I do use Photoshop CS4 to index most of the indexed textures; very few indexed textures can actually be indexed through The GIMP.

The GIMP is WAY better for editing textures, but it can't index them properly, which is where Photoshop comes to the picture.
