I got a new computer! It's really snazzy.
So what does this mean for this thread? Probably nothing, but now I can finally run Dolphin and BrawlBox. However, this does not mean I won't need collaborators anymore. I still won't be able to import my creations by myself.

I'm learning how to model... When I finish my first custom one that's NOT classwork, can I have you evaluate it and get your thoughts?

Sure. I'm by no means an expert on making models or anything, but sure.

@Velen: There are probably a lot of places my meshes, UVs, and textures could be improved, but I guess what makes my models appealing is what I always strive for accuracy and attention to detail. (For example, I drew out every single one of Kebako's hairs, and made sure they all lined up across UV seams.) Also, studying the source really helps. @Albafika: Thanks! I'm kinda surprised you haven't seen my stuff before, but I guess I'm not very active. You know, if you're ever looking for something to do, I could always use more collaborators.

Thing is, a combination of talent like yours is a rarity here on KC:MM. Made even more so by the fact you can not only make good custom models, but very good textures too. I'm namely very good at textures, and other people like Nanobuds and GBC are good at models. The only people who match your skill are either no longer active, or are, but sparingly. The only other person I can think of who matches your combination of skills off the top of my head is Starwaffle.

I kind of stopped searching through this section as soon as Beyond and Waffle stopped updating their threads, there was just nobody else to surprise me with awesome custom made models.
You know, if you're ever looking for something to do, I could always use more collaborators. Heh, maybe once I'm done with some imports I have on the way.

And Starwaffle has recently just been collabing with Nano, which of course isn't a bad thing Nano is a boss at rigging, but yah we need more people like Peardian who can make awesome models and textures.

I make YouTube videos, SM64 hacks, Brawl Hacks (obviously), NSMBW hacks, and GoldenEye 007 Mods. I also have a short attention span and tend to switch around a lot and put things on hold. But when I do finish things, 95% of the time I gave 120% effort, the other 5% of the time I give 100% effort.

what has that to do with anything? if it weren't for Nano, most of the collabed hacks wouldnt have seen the light, ever.

My point was that Starwaffle is great at making models and textures, like Peardian, and has been collaborating with Nano, like how Peardian has been collabing with others to get his models in Brawl.

I'd say Vaanrose qualifies in that awesome level of modeling and texturing. I haven't seen him around lately, but while he was here, he brought an explosion of skill. Not to mention he rigs and imports everything on his own.
What I like about your stuff though, Peardian, is the presentation. You're patient enough to wait until all the modeling and texturing is completely finished, rig the model into a fitting pose, and present us with a finished, usable model with a fantastic render, lighting, and special effects where applicable. And you have a literal collection of trophies to show for it. I see the occasional WIP from you, but most of the time, just BAM, a well-presented model.

I have to say, It's quite satisfying to reveal a model like that. The main reason I do that, though, is related to my motivation. If I publicly release a preview of a WIP, there's some of the same surprise and joy reactions, though to a much lesser degree. Still, a part of me feels satisfied by it, and I start to lose interest in completing it. This is why if I ever show a WIP, I keep it really low-profile so most people will still be surprised. This is also why I don't post any of my ideas for future projects before working on them. By simply showing an interest in attempting something, I already get reactions that drain away my motivation to complete or even attempt it.
