I just got Gecko OS running on HBC. I have the RSBE01.gct stored on my 8GB SD card under codes. When I run Gecko, it says it loads the code but when I tested it with a PSA and textured characters, no changes to the characters exist. I followed "The Complete N00B's Guide to Brawl Hacking" but I must've missed something.

Things I've tried (may be more added later):
Reformating the SD card.
Checking the games version in case of wrong ID (USA)
A different PSA and texture
Replacing the RSBE01.gct file with one on page 48 of "TCNGTBH"
Angry grunting noises

This is what I have on my SD card:

 E:\Apps\Gecko1931\
boot.elf
icon.png
meta.xml

 E:\codes\
RSBE01.gct

 E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\fighter\ike\
FitIke.pac
FitIke00.pac
FitIke00.pcs
FitIkeFinal.pac
FitIkeMotionEtc.pac

I did some searching and found out from different sources that the SD Card has to be a 2GB or smaller.  I found this to be false when using a 4GB SD Card in the past.  This is the first I've heard of having to use a certain sized memory card.

Why is it that I can't use more than 4GB? That doesn't leave much space to work with when modifying the entire game.  Is there a way to make the wii and\or game read a higher capacity storage device?

So you said that you checked for whether or not RSBE is correct for you, so that can't be the problem, and those folders are the correct setup for Gecko, and those are the correct names for Ike, so that rules out the possibility of it being files on the SD card.

The only other possibilities are these two: Either it's the card itself, or the settings in Gecko.(It might be the Gecko settings, despite your "Post Merge"; it doesn't take long to check) To see which of these problems it is, you only need one way that does or does not work; so if you put Project M(one of the "Hackless" downloads on your SD card, delete all custom stages on your Wii(Even the ones by Nintendo), go back to the menu, plug in your SD card, go to the stage builder, and see if Project M loads. If it does not work, that means the problem is what you said, which means that you just need the code to make it compatible with 8 GB cards(Which I dunno where it is). If it does work, that means that it's the Gecko settings, which means that you should just check the Gecko options and change the Hook Type until the hacks load.

There is one way to use any type of SD card, but it is VERY risky. Downgrade your wii to 4.1, It was, I believe. If you have a 4.3 updated wii, in order for it to work, it has to be 4.1 for an SD that is over 2GB. Sorry.

Or just use a code and put it on your SD card. -_-
I know it exists; I just don't remember who knows where to find it.

It's been a while since I first hacked my wii. My info may be outdated.

    Thanks Windhunter.
I tried out Hackless Project M and it didn't work. I did however find the *USB Loader GX Package. I'm going to do some tests with this and see where it leads me. If this doesn't work, I'll resort to trying Riivolution which I read supports SD cards over the 2GB mark. If Riivolution fails, I'll continue searching for that code Windhunter is talking about which I still have had no luck finding yet.

I'll keep this as up to date as possible.

I've done all I know how to do and it all came down to buying a 4GB SD Card from Wal-Mart which works just fine  .  If anyone knows that code WindHunter was talking about, would be awesome to know if it exists somewhere.

    Until then, happy smashing!
