Lost My Channels

So I recently got a Wii U, but during the data transfer from the my Wii, I lost all of my data, including my channels that I used to hack Brawl with.  When I turned on my Wii U and explored it more, I noticed that there was a Wii Menu option.  Is there a way to install the channels I need on my Wii U's Wii Menu, or do I have to put them back on my Wii?
