improper file format

Not sure who can help me with this one.
Whenever I open certain files, zero suit's face for example, in 3dsmax, I get a "improper file format" error.
I've made sure I did everything the exact same way as when I open another, yet the error occurs.

I've made sure I did everything the exact same way as when I open another, yet the error occurs.

Make sure you have the latest version of DasDonkey Vertex box. There are two versions out there that are both "version 1", one gave me errors like that so I just redoownloaded DDV Box. I recommend just redownloading it DDV Box and try it again.

I got a few different downloads, but my results were the same.
Thus, I'll have to finish making tifa when I find a working version,

Some vertex sets don't work in Dasdonkey Vertex Box, such as Pokemon Trainer's hat/hair. The only way to vertex hack them is to do the hexing way.
