Title: I love the restore feature
Post by: 14fan on November 25, 2010, 10:22:45 PM
I am typing on my iPod touch so forgive grammatical errors. My uncle showed me an amazing program to clean out junk in laptops, and long story short it deleted a file needed to open Windows Explorer. I have a very limited access to the Internet, and only when a certain pop-up shows up. Due to this, I lost everything. I can no longer hack until my laptop gets fixed (if it ever does).

Well, that's about it. I can't type too long, my iPod's about to die.

I found if you mash F8 upon startup, it has the choice to repair the computer. Once you select repair, it gives you many choices to try to repair the computer. My last system update was 11/24, so now it's back to normal.

UPDATE

So after hours of decisions on the phone, I have set my computer to restore to the day of 11/24. It will continue to keep the Trojans but at least will be usable by me and I will possibly fix later. For now, I really hope the restore works.

Awesome. So, what happened, does it get rid of major viruses or something?

Awesome. So, what happened, does it get rid of major viruses or something?

The programs my uncle used got rid of minor and major viruses, essentially freeing up my laptop's room and making it run much more efficiently. However, the program deteced a major bug in a main file that is key for generating Windows Explorer. Once the scans found these errors, they attempted to extract the bug from the files, but the bugs were in so deep the ended up erasing the whole file. So when I ran my laptop, nothing showed up but a black screen. No icons, no start menu, not even my background.

So I restored my computer to the settings it was at on 11/24, and it restored everything, sadly including the viruses.

It's a shame though, it spent 3 hours finding 1,358 bugs and deleting them.

But I'm happy, though, because when it cleaned everything, it wiped out important files for all of my programs, I couldn't open Vegas Pro, I couldn't open the internet, my laptop couldn't even have sound.

I just need to get a professional to clean this thing out.

Sailor Neptune or maybe a fire PSA for Sailor Mars

Because Peach is already Sailor Moon, it would need Zelda or ZSS to be one of those. Zelda is to elegant and not very fighty, and ZSS has a very small .pac size.

If you were wanting one of those I could make a custom one for you, but I'm making an old character off of a fanime I had going.

System Restore is a very useful tool. The only caveat to that is when viruses/spyware infect not only current files but also the System Restore points
