I'm pretty sure I have everything set up right but I just don't understand why when I place hacks in my RiiFS folder while having my RiiFS C++ server and Brawl- running, that hack won't appear in the game.

I have two "smashmods" .XMLs, placed in my 'riivolution' folder on both my SD card and my computer's RiiFS folder in my C drive. I also have two "riifstemplate" .XMLs in the same places and configured them with my IPv4 address. I open up RiiFS C++ server and it says this: "RiiFS C++ Server is now ready for connections on 0.0.0.0:1137" and stays like that until I start up Riivolution, then the server says it's connected and then starts entering all of this "return" crap very fast, about five times per second, so I know I have the connection right at least.

Also, this is what my riifstemplates both look like:


With RiiFS and Brawl- running, I did a test by adding a Ness texture -- FitNess03.pcs -- to my pf/fighter/ness folder (I edited both smashmods.XMLs to have the FPC file layout) in my RiiFS folder, then when I selected Ness's blue costume in the game he didn't have the texture; he was just in his normal blue costume.

Why can't I stream hacks?

I don't know much about this kind of XML, but I'm pretty sure that's it...... You have to pick which mod you want to stream through Riivo, then wait a while..... It's kinda laggy on startup.

I don't understand. What do I do, just launch Riivo normally like I always would? How can I download hacks on this computer and add them to my game? What folder do I have to put these hacks in?




What about it? I've been there many times before but it doesn't answer any of my questions.

^Eh, you launch riivo, select the XML, click which mod you wanna play. Unless you wanna set up your own RiiFS..... I don't know about that, haven't tried it.

How do you select XMLs in Riivo? If I select my RSB XML, will it also load modlauncher?

It's a little number on the top of the screen with arrows by it, you're basically scrolling through your XMLs, it loads them all at once.

I looked everywhere on my Riivo menu and I see nothing like that anywhere.

Edit: Yep; I just checked again around the top -- I see no little numbers or arrows.

If you have multiple XML's it has a little button right next to the game's name, it says "Page" and then there's the number. If there isn't anything, there, you probably have it in the wrong directory. Did you put it in X:/Riivolution?

Yes. F:/riivolution/RSB.XML.

What the XML looks like:

Now I definitely know I don't have it -- I watched a random video of someone using their Riivo, and I saw the number with arrows right next to the game's name. I don't have that for sure.

you have to put in your game first and then you  see the numbers and those two arrows

How do I stream hacks now? I have all my brawlmods files and folders in the same folder as riifs.exe, I edited my common5.pac in my PC folder to change a CSP while running Brawl- and tried adding a Ness texture while running Brawl-, but it didn't change in game -- why? Both my SD card and PC folder have the same exact files, including the riifstemplate.XML

why don't you just download the file patch .xml, you know, so the file path is the same as the one from the file patch code:P

I don't understand. But all I'm trying to do is get my RiiFS server to load the hacks I put into its folder into my game.

Also, why did you link me to the Brawl Vault?

because in the brawl vault on that page you can find the xml file which I use, and that one works perfectly for me :P

I don't see it in there anywhere but anyway I still don't understand what you're telling me to do here. Anyway, I already have edited my modlauncher XML to have FPC's file system -- I don't need the XML your suggesting me.

My SD card and RiiFS folder both have the exact same files and folders. Whatever I place in the RiiFS folder while running riifs.exe and Brawl- won't appear in the game. I just want an explanation for that, please.

It seems barely anyone knows how to work this stupid RiiFS thing, huh?

I am using the normal Riivolution but I want to try RiiFS as well. That way when I want new hacks I don't have to keep turning off my game.

Well I'm sorry but I'm really trying to get help on this. I've posted on Smash Mods, Smashboards, All is Brawl and here, and they just sit around and absolutely no one is helping.

I have no where else to turn; what do you expect me to do? Never figure out my problem? Not trying to sound rude at all or anything, but I would be forever bugged if I know I can never solve a problem.

Almost all of my problems I've posted on this forum previously have been solved, this seems to be the only one that almost no one knows.

I know some people know how to do this because I have a friend who is an All is Brawl mod that is a Riivolution expert and uses RiiFS. He is currently helping me over Skype about RiiFS, but he doesn't come online much.

uhm, I don't think that someone knows it/wants to help, because why don't you just use riivolution without RiiFS orsomething ?:P

I do but I want to use RiiFS since it makes things a lot more easier.

There's nobody who knows how to help you or they just don't want to or if you're lucky the guy who knows how to help you  hasn't showed up yet -_-

Well there has to be someone that knows, otherwise what's the point of RiiFS existing if no one knows how to use it?

Your Wii is connected to your own computer's Router or LAN adapter, correct?

Also, are you using a connection that isn't yours? (such as: Searching For an Access Point and choosing your neighbor's access point) RiiFS will NOT work if you use a connection that is not owned by you.

If you don't get the sentence above, I will explain it a bit better:

If you aren't using your own connection (wireless or wired) streaming from your computer to your Wii, RiiFS will not work.

Yeah my Wii is connected to my own connection. Always has been.

Then, the problem is just you.

You probably haven't followed the directions right.

Get rid of everything that you have setup for RiiFS and set it up again using a guide, following EVERY step.

What could I have possibly done wrong? I have RiiFS working and it even connected to my game once, but I just need to know why it doesn't read the hacks I put in the folders in C:\Program Files\RiiFS. I even had a Riivolution expert named Midnite on All is Brawl help me with all the RiiFS stuff and not even he can get it to work. He got the old RiiFS to work but he can't get the newer RiiFS I'm using to work. Probably because it's more convoluted.
