Title: .pac Help
Post by: brawlerdude93 on June 30, 2010, 04:37:54 PM
Before making textures, I would make Partial Size Modifications, which are codes that alter the size of a certain part of a character. Just recently I found out how to do that, but more efficiently in BrawlBox. I made 5 different files, but when I try to use them in Brawl the game freezes. What is wrong with them?

Here's a download link so you can try it out for yourself:
Giant Captain Falcon: http://www.mediafire.com/?fwou2axmzdm (http://www.mediafire.com/?fwou2axmzdm)
Buff Fox: http://www.mediafire.com/?tjoeiwyimmy (http://www.mediafire.com/?tjoeiwyimmy)
Buff Sonic: http://www.mediafire.com/?gjzydoiwijn (http://www.mediafire.com/?gjzydoiwijn)
WEREHOG Sonic (with texture by GaarAlizée): http://www.mediafire.com/?yinmznytzy2 (http://www.mediafire.com/?yinmznytzy2)
Giant Wolf: http://www.mediafire.com/?iyw5rcg3zmz (http://www.mediafire.com/?iyw5rcg3zmz)

To see how these were done, open a file in BrawlBox, under the character model file which can be viewed, there are files with many numbers and such, similar to what you would see for vertex hacking. Usually in the line "Scale" the scale is (1,1,1).  The first number represents the X value (left-right) value for the chosen body part. The second number represents the Y value (up-down), and the third represents the Z value (far-near). Changing these numbers will change the size, while chaning the numbers in "Translation (numbers have same X/Y/Z value) will slide a body part in a given direction based on the value.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

For the record, I can't vertex hack. So don't tell me to do that instead. When I download 3DS Max, it never opens. I've re-downloaded it, from the site it's from, and still nothing. So yeah, this will have to do.

Well, these are done via, animations so you have to utilize the FirMotionEtc.pac of the character if you want to get the animations because even if you scale them and it did work you'd need to apply it in EVER animation, heres a tutorial on BrawlBox Animation to help you out:
