Title: Toon Zelda Post by: JBG on July 19, 2010, 02:18:11 PM Allow me to show you my latest, greatest creation, Toon Zelda!
(http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/3751/tzwiiiiip.png) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/tzwiiiiip.png/) Yes, it looks good from here, but I'm having an issue. For some reason, either by my own error or by one in the script, I can't seem to export it onto the model so that the changet take place. I hear that the hair and hat mods will goof up, but i'd still need it exported. So this is sort of a show off and a plea for help. If someone could export this from 3DSMax I would greatly appreciate it. .MAX file is here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?h1mua260v1wu638 Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Akari_Un on July 19, 2010, 02:39:53 PM it looks cool, still working on it ^^
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: mariokart64n on July 19, 2010, 02:53:13 PM vertex hacking has its limits, I think you might have over exceeded that limit.
model looks good though, I just think you'll never get it working. sorta happened to me, with lightning on ike. the transformation was too extreme. I'm going to have to hack the rigging format, to tweak how the vertices bind during animation. just to hide my own failure to pre-plan. Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: vcvmajinken on July 19, 2010, 03:02:09 PM seeing new hacks of hatless links, makes clear that with hat bones renaming this kind of hacks will work :P
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: mariokart64n on July 19, 2010, 03:10:59 PM thats what I thought, but it actually causes animation issues.. anyway yeah a hat wont cause the world to end. that is most likely do-able
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: JBG on July 19, 2010, 04:04:42 PM thats what I thought, but it actually causes animation issues.. anyway yeah a hat wont cause the world to end. that is most likely do-able (for this and the above comment) See what they did was rename his hat bones, making them static. That goofs up some animations and effect placement, but comes with the desired character look. I had the same problem with Azula, but I decided to leave her hair movable. Also, all I really did was edit the hair's shape, hat's shape, and elongated and widened the tunic bottom. I'm not sure that I stepped over a boundry or anything. Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: mariokart64n on July 19, 2010, 04:35:39 PM I was refering to the whole body.. that's not gonna move too nice, and making the body staic isnt an option
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Plasmakirby on July 19, 2010, 04:41:57 PM Yay, a vertex I requested is being made! anyway, I hate to hear that you're having problems. If it helps at all, I tried to edit T.Link's hat and hair before Mariokart64n's method, and I got hidden vertices, so it was pretty much un-editable.
I don't know of any way I could help, but I do hope you find a solution to fix this. If you figure out the prob, you are going to do Toon Sheik, right? Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: vectorace on July 20, 2010, 09:18:00 AM can someone post me the link to the thread to vertex like that?
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: JBG on July 20, 2010, 12:17:13 PM I was refering to the whole body.. that's not gonna move too nice, and making the body staic isnt an option Hmm...you have a point there. I guess I'll fix that after it's ported...@Plasmakirby: The vertices are lost in a "cloud", and are rather difficult to lcate, but someone has done it, there's a Capless Toon Link floating around out there somewhere. Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Plasmakirby on July 20, 2010, 04:04:14 PM I know wat you mean. I couldn't imagine having to locate the vertice in that cloud. I don't see why it isn't just up where that head is.
I hope you get a way to fix this, cause I'd love to see it done, along with a Toon Sheik Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: JBG on July 20, 2010, 04:07:37 PM I know wat you mean. I couldn't imagine having to locate the vertice in that cloud. I don't see why it isn't just up where that head is. I hope you get a way to fix this, cause I'd love to see it done, along with a Toon Sheik Now Toon Sheik shouldn't be super hard. See someone's made a Capless Toon Link, which I could easily edit to look like Sheik. Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Plasmakirby on July 20, 2010, 05:27:19 PM well, while you're unable able to fix this, mind taking a shot at it? here's a reference pic

Yeah I'll probably do it sooner or later, It would take some time, and I may run into a similar problem if I use the new method. Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: ShadowSnake on July 22, 2010, 02:17:52 PM Black Boo, i love u. (<-Not gay)
really dude, love it. cant wait for a release! :af2: Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Link40 on July 22, 2010, 04:01:39 PM .........ok first off I honestly could draw a better one buuuuuut Yeah I'll probably do it sooner or later, It would take some time, and I may run into a similar problem if I use the new method. Well, because it is Toon Zelda from TWW, could you not make Tetra instead ? I know it would be difficult, but it would be so awesome ! Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: cuckoos on July 22, 2010, 09:26:56 PM .........ok first off I honestly could draw a better one buuuuuut Yeah I'll probably do it sooner or later, It would take some time, and I may run into a similar problem if I use the new method. BeyondYou is working on that. Well, because it is Toon Zelda from TWW, could you not make Tetra instead ? I know it would be difficult, but it would be so awesome ! Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Pik on July 22, 2010, 11:26:04 PM That'd make perfect sense anyway, seeing as how Shiek and Tetra are both Zelda's alter egos.
...And how Shiek isn't in Wind Waker, right? Things would kinda match up better that way. Not to mention that the moveset would still fit Tetra considerably well, her model looks easy to make. (the former assuming a model swap happens) Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Lockstin on July 23, 2010, 01:49:06 AM this is going to be amazing if it works
! Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: matteron on July 23, 2010, 10:49:38 AM For tetra, just change Tl's sword to a knife
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: ZX_BraveSol_ZX on July 23, 2010, 11:48:54 AM vertex hacking has its limits, I think you might have over exceeded that limit. you already did exceed that limit when you vertexed lucario into mewtwo and made look like it came straight from meleebut then again u are teh god of vertex hacking Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: ShadowSnake on July 23, 2010, 12:34:05 PM Black Boo, im gonna try to fix this for u. Gonna have to wait a few hours though, im busy now.
Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: Segtendo on July 23, 2010, 06:13:25 PM For tetra, just change Tl's sword to a knife Like the one from the Cooking Mama TL.Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: JBG on July 23, 2010, 09:52:24 PM That'd make perfect sense anyway, seeing as how Shiek and Tetra are both Zelda's alter egos. ...And how Shiek isn't in Wind Waker, right? (the former assuming a model swap happens) Model swap. Ha ha. Yeah. Funny man. I have no such skill :P Wow, I appreciate the sudden burst of feedback guys. I'll still try and make that toon Sheik for ya guys since, well, that's something else in popular demand. @Shadowsnake: Appreciated. And Aang? :3 Title: Re: Toon Zelda Post by: ShadowSnake on July 23, 2010, 11:32:54 PM meh it sucks, his head couldnt be shrunk good, and he looked really fat. :( Im gonna keep trying because i dont want a little fat boy as Aang.
