Title: Fox's Side B On Sonic?
Post by: Naruto200Man on August 10, 2010, 07:51:28 PM
Yeah I want to put fox's Side B on Sonic's normal side B to replace it and a different version on his side Taunt. But for some reason the bottom half of his shoes(well actually the tips) disappear?

Also can anyone tell me how to properly use the go to command?

Um... I would just take Sonic's Fit00 pac file, then open fox's file as an external file, play side b, add a frame into frame 2, copy frame 0 over frame 1, export it, then replace.

But it might have the same effect.

It's like super late where I'm at and don't have wii access so I'll make the file and test it tomorrow.

But I like this idea. Is it for a potential PSA?

EDIT: Testing the play option on BrawlBox, it just has him T Stancing and moving sideways.
I've never really hacked a motionetc pac for a real character, i just normally goof around. But this sonic is so strange  :srs:

I'm going to take a guess that I failed  :af:

Yeah I'm making a (canonically loyal *glares at all the BS fakers* -_-) Dark sonic, and I'm trying to give him new moves so he's not a total copy of normal sonic. The first stage is completed and he's located in my brawlvault.

The main problem is that he's set to curl up into the ball form when using Side B. To change things up, you could perhaps make this his side smash.

Or, if you wanted to, you could make this his B attack and he speed to one side and back.

(Don't ask me to do this, I'm very basic when it comes to PSA and Brawlbox. I don't even know how to change bones and make custom moves. I just come up with ideas)

I like this idea better, also if you want to replace one of his spin attacks I'd change the down one, just because the side one is easier to change directions with in midair.

Actually, I was thinking Fox's side B on Sonic for his Side Smash.

Or the neutral B be him use it twice, once in the direction facing, and once to get back to the original position.

But sure, if you or NaruZeldaMaster wanna use the Down B or Side B as a side smash, go ahead.

okay, so I just replace the psa stuff in sonic's Down B with fox's(minus the sounds/graphics) and do the animation trick? Which animation in psa would I replace with the stuff though, there's like five different thingson sonic's B button X_X

BUUT there's only two things on his taunt and that's the facing left/facing right thing :D Maybe I'll put it there? His side taunt would be more fitting cause you know
"you're too slow~" Zips across the s tage and back*
The real trick would be getting foxes animation as one whole animation on it....

Why not just replace the animation but keep him saying "You're too slow"?

Why not just replace the animation but keep him saying "You're too slow"?

Well there's really two reasons

1: Sonic already looks like he's running pretty fast in the first place during this particular animation
2: If possible turning off all the polygons on one frame and turning them back on on another frame would give the disappearing effect or possibly at least.

Okay, didn't quite understand that.

But I'm just going to use a brand new idea for his Side B that you may or may not like if it's even possible.

Have him surround in darkness, give him invincibility frames, then give him Ike's side b. This move should give okay damage with little knockback since the invincibility frames would work well.

Oh, also, do you use Riivolution or do you use Brawl+?

I'm not sure what I use, I used to have Brawl+, then I downloaded MASTERLINKX's custom brawl package and it changed a lot of things.

Anyway, if I'm correct, as long as you're using PAL I can make your Dark Sonic have a CSP and a victory portrait.

Depending on your means of the CSP. Do you mean the little icon when selecting on characters or the picture that shows up when selecting a specific character?

I can change the big picture when he's selected, just not the little one you select.

I had a friend fix his animation so it moved as far as fox's side B but now I need the actual animation itself(for his side taunt) to be 'faster' when it shows it in brawl. So it actually looks like he's actually moving fast as fox's side B

As for your other question, sorry I have US or is that pal? XP
If you could tell me how to do that though and make the pic for me It'd make his hack a little cooler.

Well what I have to do first is take a picture of him in the game, then save it to my SD card. I then open the picture in a program that converts it to a .PNG file.

After that, I open it in Microsoft Paint and change every pixel of the background color to a base color (one that the character doesn't have in their texture).

Then I go into GIMP and select each area of the base colored background. Then I use the eraser tool and erase the screen.

Afterwards I have to change the background from white to no background.

I save the .PNG and replace the picture in BrawlBox.

you could use a greenscreen or a mangenta colored screen stage for faster results.

Where can I download one? I tried a completely black screen over the one leaf stage (forgetting the name right now) and the leaf still showed up. :(

Leaf stage = pickmin XD
BTW that would be awesome, but where do I replace it in BB? like what file and stuff. It would also help if I knew how to do a CSP (the tiny picture on the CSS)

Let's see. the topic was  here  (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=8633.0) but it needs a revamp cause of the screen being too close.

Oh no I was thinking of Hanenbow.

And I replace the picture in pf>menu2>sc_selcharacter.pac

Open that in BrawlBox, go to char_bust_text_lz77

then you have to know the number of the character. I think Sonic is MiscData[46]

There you find the pictures.

Haha "that one leaf stage" turned out to be henanbow XD funny how my completely random suggestion jogged your memory :P I'm that talented at bein random X3 maybe I should win a gold medal for it or somethin *shiftyeyes*

sc_selcharacter_en.pac  Is that the right file that I need? (from the data partition on mediafire)

Sorry for the late reply.

Idk if that's correct. It is if you can edit the char_bust_tex_lz77.

Check that file and open MiscData[46]

If you see Sonic's pictures than you got it.

If you don't, than try sc_selcharacter.pac

Mine is just sc_selcharacter.pac without the _en at the end.

However, when I open it to edit it, it's named with the _en at the end.

So try it.

I found em X3 I mean all of them, the little Icon for supspace emisary (I think), the portrait for when u select him, and the mini portrait for him on the CSS :D Now I just need to find a green screen code.

BTW where am I putting this edited file in my sd card?

pf/menu2/sc_selchar.pac (delete the _en) I believe that's right, but I could be wrong (I edit the common5 to do mine)

Also, the green screen isn't from a code, it's a stage texture. Look through the stage builder textures in the vault and you should be able to find it. Dang, just checked and it's not in there, but you can just download a pack of stage builder parts and just make all of the textures one flat color, not hard at all.

Thanks, but honestly I think I'm gonna stick with my method.

It's one I know that works. Is the stage Hanenbow or Pictochat? Those stages make the characters 2D and limit the picture options.

I'm sorry that I can't really help with Sonic's shoes disappearing because I've never heard of something like that happening, but the Goto command is pretty simple.

In each tab of each subaction, right above the white rectangle with the code, there'll be a number like 0x45621 or whatever. If it's 0x0, that means it has nothing in the box.

When you use Goto, put that number in the box. It pretty much means, turn this into the tab that I took the offset from.

Hope that makes sense! :)

Well do either of your stages make the character 2D? If not I might use them.

I love how this conversation has completely nothing to do with the OP.

But I'm looking forward to trying and possibly (if you want) helping out with this character.
