Title: Animation Problems
Post by: New Age Retro Hacker on August 17, 2010, 03:01:42 AM
So I'm trying to port GBowser over Bowser but I'm having problems with his animations (not to mention the fact that if he uses his shield or his SideB hits the game crashes)
The first (but rather minor) problem is that two of his toes seem to screw up in his Wait1 Wait2 etc animations
The most annoying problem is that when he walks/ runs he eventually returns to his original position (the only thing I know about that is the fact that is has to do with his TopN bone).
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks in advance  :af2:

Yeah, I have the same problem. I don't think Bowser or Giga Boswer's animations are changeable, at least not by the usual way.

Uhmm, I just replaced the FitKoopaMotion in the common4.pac with the FitGKoopa and the animations were ported over. The only problem I have is that they don't properly work (see OP). In other words: you can change them.

OK, he's now fully animated (except that he can only move forwards and backwards by jumping, or else he will walk in an endless loop of running and returning to his starting point and he will go in a T-Stance when hurt).
I do know however what is causing his feet to act weird on the ground; the character's feet respond to the angle of the floor, because the game things I'm playing as Bowser who (I believe) only has one bone per foot so the game only gives one bone per foot the right angle. But as Giga Bowser has 3 bones (1 for every toe) in his foot he won't adjust all of his toes but just one.

So you have got him animated though the Common4.pac?

Yes, that's the file Riivolution loads instead of the FitKoopaMotion.pac

Ahh, that's understandable.

Allright, the walk glitch is fixed now but I still have two problems (not counting the feet problem):
-Due to their bone sets I had to choose if he could walk or can be grabbed; I picked walking. So what part of GigaBowser's PSA makes it so that he can't be grabbed AT ALL?
-Apparently he keeps crashing the game when using his shield, but the bone adder program just doesn't work for me (it keeps hanging up) so if somebody can do that for me I'll send you the link to the file (the model).
Also here's a pick of the glitched feet I mentioned in my OP:
