Post by: lYIaXeD OuT on August 17, 2010, 06:51:55 PM it might freeze because of a hack that you dont have all the neccessary files for. so make sure if its a hack you have, you have everything needed for it

Title: Re: i gots a bit of a problem with my SD card.. Post by: 14fan on August 17, 2010, 07:21:04 PM The SD card must be 2GB or smaller. Anything else will freeze the game.
The side of the SD card has a lock feature. When it's locked and you try to add or remove stuff it won't do anything. I would suggest keeping the original CSP's and everything until you're 100% positive you know what you're doing. For example, I knew how to replace pictures in BrawlBox, and I did that for a stage on the SSS today, but it froze everything up as well. I put in the unchanged one and everything's working fine. I know it may not look as nice as it could look, but at least this keeps it playable. Also, if you downloaded a character's .pac file and they needed a motionetc.pac file that could be causing it. Most importantly I would check that you downloaded everything onto your SD card correctly. If one little thing is missing it could screw up everything. Hope this helps. You said you replaced some portraits and that it freezes when you try to go to the character select scree, right? That probably means your common5 or sc_selchar (whichever you use) is too big. When you put the CSPs back in, make sure that you index them (in gimp it's in image>mode>indexed, i dunno about photoshop) and just make sure that it's smaller than the default.
Also, just to clarify a few things... -If your SD card isn't 2 gig it won't freeze, Brawl just won't recognize any of the files on it -CSS and SSS need to be smaller than the original, that's why you should index the images you add to them. If you do that, you should have no problems. -If Brawl freezes before you get to the character select screen, it's almost always a problem with the select screen. The thing was, I downloaded pictures from someone else, who's files were working for them. Size was correct, color, and everything. Which means they should've worked. But they didn't. And I always thought over 2GB froze... my bad. Title: Re: i gots a bit of a problem with my SD card.. Post by: DocStrange on August 18, 2010, 01:54:50 PM Did you use the exact same set of pictures? Because they may have had more pictures than you and thus more of their pictures where of a smaller file size than the defaults so their total size was less than yours.
