Title: Help setting up to install hacks.
Post by: Argol228 on August 11, 2009, 11:56:38 PM
Ok so i recently discovered Brawl hacks and got excited so tried searching for what I have to do. awhile later I came out of my search with a headache. Ok so I need homebrew but I have 4.1E so that may not be possible. It is suggested I should use Bootmii but a confusing piece of information lead me to believe I need HBC already installed. but than If i install HBC without bootmii it may brick my wii.......I am confuzzled.

Is there a quick and easy step by step tutorial that will help me install HBC+Bootmii and any other app/util that I may need. without bricking my Wii?

P.S Sorry if there has been a topic about this, I did do a quick search for related topics but the one I found wasn't particularily helpful as the poster (using 4.1) already had HBC installed.

You need to use the bannerbomb  exploit. The Twilight hack doesn't work on 4.0 +

There is always a risk of bricking,  but if you know what your doing and/or follow the guide perfectly, you shouldn't have any issues. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. If something does happen you can't hold any one responsible.

The Twilight Hack/installation of the Homebrew Channel can't brick you. I don't see how the BannerBomb can do the same thing since it's like the Twilight Hack.

I've used it to downgrade a Wii two months ago. Got paid $40.

First off, I never wanted money, never did ask.

Second, he just threw it at me with the Wii.

Third, I didn't sell anything to him.

>_>

The twilight hack can brick your wii, easily, you just have to be a dumbass and completely ignore the instructions. Bannerbomb does almost the same process at the twilight hack, just gets the unsinged code running differently. Its easy to get HBC on your wii, unless your retarded.

Being a dumbass, and completely ignoring the instructions still won't brick. Unless, you use a different region of the Twilight Hack on a different region of a Wii (Semi-brick), not sure though.

Bannerbomb, my only guess would be bootmii. That's all.

Apparently that's considered being a dumbass by universal standards.
