Title: BRSTMS make broken TV song after awhile.
Post by: GenesisX on September 03, 2010, 09:02:09 AM
Is it because the BRSTM is over 4 minutes? That's what I heard, but I'm not sure. I'm wondering how to fix it. I'd appreciate it if someone answered before tomorrow.

check and see if the brstm isn't looped...
sometimes that happens...

I can't see if it's looped. I'm not making the BRSTMS. A friend is. One of them works, the other doesn't.

6. Sometimes, when I use a song with the SD Loader, I hear a lot of static, or the game suddenly switches to another song. What's up with that?
This problem has varying causes. Make a backup of everything on the SD card, then reformat it. That might fix it. According to Phantom Wings, songs that have a sampling rate higher than 32 kbps can cause this, but I don't think anyone is going to apologize for making songs too high-quality. Songs replaced on the ISO do not have this problem.

And you can check songs yourself; just get BrawlBox.

I do, they sound fine then, but in Brawl, it's screwed.

oh...
I had that problem once...
open the brstm... and save as brstm...
that might work...

my problem was a zip file extraction error...
I just re-extracted and it sounded fine :)

it sounds like static right...
or does it play the original sound??

also... you did check the loop in brbx??

You may want to check the Sample Rate of your BRSTM files.  Brawl uses BRSTMs with a sample rate of 32000 Hz.  If I recall, using BRSTMs with higher sample rates (41000 Hz or 48000 Hz) can cause them to behave erratically in-game.

I'm gonna go with what Vyse says.
