when i turn the file patch code on for gecko it said it cant find it. here is the set up of my SD card. can you spot anything wrong. im trying to get dark link onto my game.( i took out the OoT music file from the download.
>"fighter">"link">(17 .pcs/.pac for the dark link download)
>"pf">"stage">"melee">(nothing yet)
"private">"wii">"app">"rsbe"
>"st">st_080805_0933(came with the private folder download)
>boot.elf
"apps">"Gecko1931">icon
>meta
"codes">RSBE01.gct( i replaced the one from the download with the file patch code that i put into the GCT editor)
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS!!! does anyone know :'( :'( :'(
What do you mean?
What's the error you get when you load gecko/wherever it's giving you a error at?
the gecko just sais file patch code not found when its loading the game, and does my sd card look close to good?
need gameconfig.txt for it to not give that error
also your stup if just fine
what is gameconfig.txt, and do u think the dark link will work if i get gameconfig.txt
copy and paste this into notepad and save as gameconfig.txt on the root of your sd card
RSB?01:
codeliststart = 80570000
codelistend = 80580000
poke(800042B8, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E9930, 4BFECA1D, 803E9930, 60000000)

pokeifequal(803E9D5C, 4BFECA1D, 803E9D5C, 60000000)
copy and paste all of it? and do i put it straight into my sd card as a file. btw is the dark link download in the correct spot. and i have wii 4.3u , does it matter
it still said file patch not found
Copy & Paste it into Notepad and save it as a .txt file.
Also, can you name exactly what you have in folder "link"?
ok it will take a min
save the file patch???
Yes.
i thought you said to put file code in the codes folder after saving it with gtc editor
File patch code goes into codes folder. gameconfig.txt goes into the root of your sd card.
i put the file patch through the gct file editor, and i copy and pasted the game config to note pad then to the root. they are both in the correct places and when i load up gecko it sais file patch not found. btw with the gameconfig do i copy and paste the entire thing as it is or do i make it 1 line or somthing :oshi:

You copy & paste the whole. Don't make it one line. Put it in this simple directory:
[SD Card]>gameconfig.txt
<_<
Does it say "File Patch Not Found" or "Codes not Found"?
file patch not found
btw. thanks

btw. thanks
Under settings, do you have codes enabled?
yes
the file patch has been this whole time in the codes section but my codes section is in the root of the SD

Well, try making a folder named "gecko" on the root of your SD and put your "codes" folder in there.

it's sd->gecko->data->codes beyond >.>
i will definately try. btw i also put the file patch through the converter, and copy and pasted the gameconfig to my root. also my faile patch is named RSBE01.gct and its the only thing in the folder
so i also make a data folder in gecko to put codes folder in
ok i did everything u all said and it still said no file patcher found when i tried to load :oshi:
and every time i take my sd out of the wii this page named config is in my root
and every time i take my sd out of the wii this page named config is in my root
Is this the content of your file?
RSBE01:

Anyway, is your SD <2GB?
yes that is the content in the root of my SD and my card is 2GB
y has everyone given up on me :srs:

file patch not found
btw. thanks
It's been a while since I looked... but that sounds like an entirely different thing altogether. Despite the code being called file patch code, there is an option in gecko also called this.
In gecko options you want "file patch" off and "codes" on.
you want the file patch off
and on the options do i force ntsc on
Don't think that matters. (Only for out of region stuff)
but the file patch goes off
Right. At least that's how it is on my setup.
well it didnt freez but it also said no codes were fornd, so the codes folder doesnt go in another folder named gecko?
Mine is simply E:\codes\...
MY QUESTION IS Y DOES MY WII HATE ME......let me try without gecko folder
and btw is the only thing in the gecko menu i need turned on is codes
well the it said codes were found and i got all the way to the character menu and chose link, but when i selected a stage my game froze
Try different character hacks, could just be a bad file.
well do i have dark link in the correct place, and can u give me a link to one that works because i saw a video with him and its awesome
Even in the wrong place it shouldn't freeze.
Anything from my collection should work:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=1747
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Yoshi\FitYoshi00.pac
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Yoshi\FitYoshi00.pcs
should i delete the dark link hack
and do i put the pcs and pac file in the same place, and is fityoshi00 the name of your hack
Eh, prolly for now.
k
and do u have a st folder in the rsbe folder
I have quite a bit in there actually. :P
But st is for custom stages (officially custom) so it shouldn't matter.
k so do i put both the yoshi files in the same folder
i dowloaded the yoshii and there is 3 files in the download, do i put all of them in my yoshi file in pf
yes, in pf>fighter
You can ignore the last yoshi file, that's for display on character select (which takes a bit more work)
do i put the pcs, pac, and forget the pga file, btw which yoshi color does this go over
00 is always default.
Yup, those two only.
does it go over green yoshi
Yup.
DAMM IT FROZE!!!
Maybe a bad code set?
Try...
http://www.mediafire.com/?2yikz3mmdrh
Exact one I use: file replacement, camera and replay hacks.
wait so do i take out the yoshi file, and where do i put this
that replaces what you have in your codes folder.
No, don't take the Yoshi file out, as of yet.
Just replace your RSBE01.gct with the one provided you.
soo, i replace the filepatch with this
k so i dowloaded it and the win.zip did not come up
Because its not a zip. Place that directly in the codes folder.
...when i upload it it just finishes uploading and no page or anythng comes up
You have to click "open". Download WinRAR and WinZIP
I have absolutely no idea why you are talking about uploading now.
Oh, then, click "Save" to the codes folder and replace RSBE01.gct with the new one.
well when i click open it sais
" to open this file windows needs to know what program created it. ect." and it gives me an option to have windows search it or something dumb. \
im a freaking failure, im so sorry to bother u guys
Shouldn't click open, should click save.
Then save it to SD:\codes\RSBE01.gct
when i right click it there is no save option....
im sorry im such a failure
'Save link as' or 'Save target as'?
If neither, what browser? (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome)
fire fox
You click the link picano provided. Then you click the download link that's in the link. When the box comes up, click "Save as..." and replace the RSBE01.gct that's in your "codes" folder.
it does give me the option of open containing folder
Quote from: Yourface191 on September 13, 2010, 12:55:42 AM
it does give me the option of open containing folder
That should take ya right to the file. From there you can copy it to X:\codes\
k well i did copy the file so now i delete the file patch code and put this in its place?
Correct.
will do
so i dont even need the file patch anymore and lol my profile sais advanced kitten, i think it should say "sPesHuLl" kitten
Right. Well, the RSBE01.gct has all you need code wise.
Options: Codes on, file patch off.
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Yoshi\FitYoshi00.pac
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Yoshi\FitYoshi00.pcs
X:\codes\RSBE01.gct
and you should be good to go.
if it doesnt work i still want to thank you
well yoshi is not blue but atleast it did not freeze
Hm... well lets see if anything else in the code file worked.
When you pause in a match, can you zoom out infinitely?
w8 a sec
yes, yes infact i can
Ok, at least the code file itself is working.
Need a closer look at your file setup.
It should look like...
http://img201.imageshack.us/i/73369283.png/
(You can ignore selection.txt, that's what I use to keep track of what file is what)
The rest replace my Red, Blue, Yellow, and Pink Yoshis.
If you can get me a screenshot of your folder, that would be perfect.
well its not even close to that, i only have 2 yoshi files
wow, atleast the zoom code works and it didnt freeze, =)
Two yoshis is fine, I just was too lazy to make mine look like yours is supposed to. :P
well, the yoshi code doesnt work for me...
picano u there
Well, I'm out of direct ideas.
If you could either show a screenshot of the yoshi folder (and the full file path) or maybe zip up the entire private folder and put it online I might have some ideas.
folder path
J:private/wii/app/rsbe/pf/fighter/Yoshi
inside the yoshi folder i have
BlackN'BlueYoshi.pac
BlackN'BlueYoshi.pcs
That would do it.
Have to rename both of those to...
FitYoshi00.pac
and
FitYoshi00.pcs
then will it work?
Hopefully. :P
soo, i just rename them and thats it
Yup
here goes nothin'
HELL YAH BABY, IT WORKED!!!
Woo. :P
Now whatever you get, you just have to follow the same naming scheme.

If you wanted to make Red Link into your dark link, just rename the dark link file(s) to FitLink01.pac and / or FitLink01.pcs
now that we got thinks workin do u think i can upload darklink within 10 mins
Yeah, shouldn't take long at all.
Normal
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink00.pac
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink00.pcs
or
Red
Normal
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink01.pac
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink01.pcs
or
Blue
Normal
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink03.pac
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link\FitLink03.pcs
etc
so on the dark link, it gave me
FitLink00.pcs ( and it gave me Fitlink01,02,03.ect)
FitLink.pac
FitLinkFinal.pac
FitLink00.pcs(and FitLink01,02,02.ect)
FitLinkMotinEct.pac
soo will the darklink have all its moves and stuff
this is what i want
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYm8LM59x_o
Ok that seems like its properly named already, just dump it into the Link folder and it should work fine.
dump everything?
BTW THANKYOU SOO MUCH
Yup, put all the FitLink files you have into
X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\Link
and it should work
it works
Awesome. :P

Hey I was reading this post and I was wondering if you could help me because I was experiencing similar problems with getting the gecko ps to accept my code. I'm pretty sure I placed all the hack files in the correct place it was just the file patch code and the gameconfig codes and placement thanks

Anyway, gameconfig.txt has to be in the root of the sd card. The codes have to be in the codes folder, and the sd card has to be 2gb or less.
Check if all of this is true for you.
Yea sorry i didn't realize what I did until I saw the previous post. And yes everything does seem to check out correct its just I have a 4gb sdhc card so I'm guessing that wont work. But is there a way you can show/send me the file patch code because I don't think that I'm using the correct one or its not the whole thing. Thanks
