Title: Is Project M finished?
Post by: ChaosInvoker on September 14, 2010, 05:29:56 PM
I keep briefly hearing about it, but I don't see it! Someone somewhere mentioned it would be finished in about a month or so, about a month and a half ago. But I have no idea if he was right or not.

I've search for the answer (on and off) for about a week now (here, smashboards, youtube, google, ...ect), and no dice.

Is it the project finished if not does anybody know when it's expected?

If it is up already can someone post a link, thanks!  ;D

That's Project M spiritual prequel. Awesome.

Don't worry. The PM team is nothing like 3d realms.

Project: M will be released when it's ready. We still have quite a bit of stuff to do. :P If you want to play P:M, then hope that a tournament near you has someone who is in the pmbr.

^Pretty much

Just playing with Melee physics and now characters are getting all new attacks and things like that.

But pretty much Melee with more characters.

Just to add to that:

Some characters are having changes to make it more like Melee (example: falco's reflector doesn't shoot out anymore, so he plays the way he did in Melee). The biggest changes I know of is that they plan on bringing the physics from Melee back, they plan on bringing most of the glitches people abused in Melee (wave-dashing is the only one I know will return so far) and lastly I know they plan on slightly changing the characters (PSAs probably) and code-work.

I've known about it for a few months now, but until I saw footage of it, I didn't care about it. Here's the trailer I saw that really got me psyched for this project:

Personally, I'm against people turning Brawl into Melee 2.0, but I have to applaud the efforts they are going through and hope it becomes successful.

(I might just get P:M's Fox for personal use and lulz XP)

The hole sonic, and lucas combo part is already possible through regular Brawl. It looks cool and all but the hole reason its not like melee is because each game has to be different 64 you could not use smash attacks but was the first time nitendo characters shared a game. Melee provided smash attacks, classic, adventure, and and all star. Brawl assists, Finals, pictures, movies stage builder, ect...

Not really. Brawl doesn't have enough hitstun for those to work.

Lies. Good players can combo in vBrawl and lack of hitstun means nothing. Sonic can combo you to the sky and Lucas can even infinite combo for an effortless kill in vBrawl.

Yeah I could do all those with sonic, but what really getting me is the new moves for the brawl character who are clones even if nintendo says they're not.

I mean look a the Lucas video, ice is going to be annoying, and the strength-up move is a cheap idea for him when there are so many more possibilities, and Ideas.

Make me wonder what they're going to change for other characters, and if any of the ideas we've done are going to be ripped!, and if they are! will we get any credit for it. I beg to differ.

Beside, I'm pretty sure I could make a PSA hack that could do wave dashing, all I would have to do is take away the left, and right dodge, and recode it to slide like my Sonic hack.

Project M will never be done, people will always complain about something

The hole sonic, and lucas combo part is already possible through regular Brawl.
People who claim combos are not possible in vBrawl either:
1) Don't know the definition of combo
2) Won't even try to pull one off.

Not really. Brawl doesn't have enough hitstun for those to work.
Lies. Good players can combo in vBrawl and lack of hitstun means nothing. Sonic can combo you to the sky and Lucas can even infinite combo for an effortless kill in vBrawl.

Your opponent can DI and Air dodge in a timely manner in both situations easily which makes them not legit in normal Brawl, unless your opponent is a CPU.

There is DI chasing for stuff like that, but I can understand what you mean about air dodge god knows that brawl's air dodge is the bane to my smashing. But you got it wrong with the cpu's though they DI, and Air dodge better then most players, not to mention kicks more butt then most pro players on brawl+... XD
