Use one of those pictures as the size base and then put your character acordingly. Also, make sure the background is pink. Title: Re: CSP's... you gotta love em D: Post by: Beyond on September 29, 2010, 05:21:18 PM >_>
They need to be 128 x 160. I recommend indexing the images to reduce the filesize. Also, you don't need a magenta background anymore, unless you still use CUPASH for your CSPs. So keep the backgrounds transparent. Title: Re: CSP's... you gotta love em D: Post by: Segtendo on September 29, 2010, 05:43:02 PM When I made CSPs, I made them under 100 colors. I just didn't want my CSS freezing.

And if you want to make CSP's from scratch, use Seg's CSP stage, take pictures, then use the magic wand and make the background transparent by using the erase tool. The image has to be 128 x 160. Then simply replace all the images in BrawlBox with common5.pac opened. Title: Re: CSP's... you gotta love em D: Post by: mnsg on September 29, 2010, 08:55:53 PM You can make your custom portraits use more than 72 colors with BrawlBox. Of course, the big portraits are limited to a maximum of 256 colors; they're in CI8 format with RGB5A3 palettes.
Also, make sure that sc_selcharacter.pac doesn't use more than 3.79 MB, or else you'll get a game crash. Tip: Phantom Wings's CSS Organizer (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=2861.0) can make a sc_selcharacter.pac file that will use 3.78 MB by default when it's compressed. That'll come in real handy for when you're importing higher quality portraits. Title: Re: CSP's... you gotta love em D: Post by: DarkPikachu on September 30, 2010, 07:46:24 PM I use sc_selchar.pac, but mine's 4 mb...
anyways, PSP7 makes things easier, in my opinion, to edit... :/ I use black as my BG color before adding a custom mask to it... to make the mask, I just make a copy of the image use the wand and select all the black (or magenta at first in case there's any black areas you don't want selected) and then invert the selection. in that selection, I fill it with white and soften (blur) the entire image... gives you a nice mask to use :) Title: Re: CSP's... you gotta love em D: Post by: mnsg on September 30, 2010, 08:05:26 PM On a side note, you're better off making portraits out of in-game snapshots. When the models are viewed in BrawlBox, the eyes don't always look right.
