Title: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: Dimes on October 03, 2010, 07:59:00 PM Alright so I created a magenta background with and indexed picture and I have indexed for 72. I mapped the pallete and set it to the picture and then saved the picture. Then I run step 2 on cupash and it says that I'm using too many colors and that the max is 100, but I'm only using 72. I'm trying to edit black Marth (or marth4_big.tga).
Can someone please provide more insight into this process and help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance! Title: Re: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: Beyond on October 03, 2010, 08:03:28 PM >_> Why are you still using CUPASH? Use BrawlBox to insert your CSPs.
Open up your sel_character.pac in BrawlBox. Go to char_bust_tex_lz77 -> MiscData. Keep opening them until you find the one you want to replace and right click and select replace. No need for magenta backgrounds and having them indexed to that few colors. Title: Re: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: Dimes on October 03, 2010, 08:07:11 PM I tried doing that earlier, but when I started the game and tried to go to brawl and I got the ear-splitting game crash noise.
EDIT: Nevermind, problem solved and now I feel like an idiot lol EDIT: Nevermind again. I'm still an idiot because I'm still getting crashes. Is there a way to know how many colors it has to be set to? I have that master list thing and followed it to put them on. Obviously I messed up somewhere along the line. Title: Re: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: mnsg on October 04, 2010, 01:30:44 PM When you tried to compress the BRRES archive that your portraits are in, did you get any error messages. If you do, then you have to go back to your modified portraits and adjust their palette maximum colors. If you don't get an error message, you should be okay, as long as sc_selcharacter.pac doesn't use more than 3.79 MB.
Title: Re: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: Dimes on October 04, 2010, 04:04:11 PM Ok I figured it out. My sc_selcharacter.pac was 3.80 MB so fixed it. Thanks.

Title: Re: Yet another n00b with a CSP issue Post by: Dimes on October 05, 2010, 09:06:01 PM I switched a few of them back to the originals. I'm not sure if that's what actually did it since I'm still n00b, but other than doing the swap to make it apply to my custom CSS it's the only thing I did. It's like 3.74 MB now.
