Title: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: themikeabbo on October 12, 2010, 03:35:09 PM heyy, new to all this. i followed the noob tutorials and got to a point where i can run cheat files through gecko.
simple questions that i didnt get from the tutorials or i just didnt understand. i download a character from the vault and get some .pac files and .pcs and a few image files. where do i stick them on my sd card and do they load up by themself when running through gecko and do i need to edit anything?? thanks much =] Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: Kala-Kun on October 12, 2010, 03:44:25 PM Any PAC/PCS files named Fit(insert Character name here)0(insert number) would go in pf/fighter/(character name)
Example: Pikachu00.pcs would go in: Private/wii/app/RSB*/pf/fighter/pikachu. Then you would put fitpikachu00.pcs in there. Also, PCS is for Brawl mode, and Pac is for SSE. i.e i have a zangoose that aparantly overrites wolf Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: Kala-Kun on October 12, 2010, 04:04:59 PM That would be Fitwolf00.

SD:\private\wii\app\RSBE\fighter\wolf >>> fitwolf00.pac fitwolf00.pcs Zangoose_BP.png Zangoose_CSP.png and i just run gecko click load game and that should turn wolf to zangoose when i play? sorry for the troubble =[ Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: SmashClash on October 12, 2010, 04:28:15 PM FitWolf00.pac/pcs is the original color for wolf. FitWolf0#.pac determines what color you want the hack to be over.

Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: Miniova on October 13, 2010, 04:05:33 AM are you talking about on the character select screen or during matches?
Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: Miacis on October 13, 2010, 05:12:42 AM Quote SD:\private\wii\app\RSBE\fighter\wolf Here's your error : SD:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\fighter\wolf However, you have to remember that the .pcs and .pac files control how your caracter will appear in-game. So you'll need to start a match to see if it worked. The Character Selection Screen is NOT an indicator. By the way, if you want the picture of Zangoose to appear on the Character Select Screen, and in-game, near the %, you'll need to add them yourself, as thay are a part of a bigger file. Said file is sc_selcharacter.pac for the pictures labelled as "CSP" (Character Selection Portrait), and it goes in SD:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu2 You can find it in the Vault => Ressources => NTSC Partition at the end of the page. You'll need to open it in BrawlBox, unfold char_bust_tex_lz77, unfold MiscData[43] (for Wolf), then Textures, and right-click=> Replace the costume's picture with the Zangoos one. The process is similar for the pictures labelled as BP (Battle Portraits), but with a different file that I can't seem to ever remember. :( However, I strongly advise against taking he time to modify these portraits if it's your first time. It's already confusing enough for the beginner to add files properly, and as long as you remember that Défault Costume Wolf = Zangoose, it won't be necessary. You should start modifying CSPs and BPs when you have at least 10-15 hacks that may start to pile up. ;) Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: themikeabbo on October 13, 2010, 06:21:36 AM tried it with the new folders
I:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\fighter\wolf >>Fitwolf00.pac >>Fitwold00.pcs >>Fitwold01.pac >>Fitwolf00.pcs im still getting just wolf. is there a code file that i need to run aswell to make it work or is it just that on a sd card while running the disk through gecko? Title: Re: noob - installing characters- should just need a small anwser Post by: Miniova on October 13, 2010, 04:04:03 PM what is the size of your sd? if it's over 2g it wont work for brawl.
