Title: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: Pinutk™ on October 16, 2010, 07:57:44 PM So I know it is possible to make certain parts of the model of a character by making the texture transparent than in brawl Box change the texture type to either C18 or RGB5A3. But I tried one of my hacks in game and the parts I tried to make transparent just showed up black, but in Brawl Box they showed up transparnet, even when I used both types if textures :-\
So I was hoping someone could help shed some light on this for me. I remember back from the days with ASH there were +1 textures which could be made transparent, like link's sword. So I used to the type of texture as that but still showed up black in-game D: Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! set type to 3 for transparency. 4 is weird, it sometimes shows and sometimes doesn't, I think it depends on the amount of layers the material has. Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: Pinutk™ on October 16, 2010, 08:35:11 PM Thanks but thats not what I want. I needed to make individual things transparent, like captain flacon's gun but I couldn't just make that transparent through the material1 transparency.
Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: DarkPikachu on October 16, 2010, 08:37:25 PM the same thing happened to me when I was working on my first Dark Pika texture hack...
(he has a frayed tail) sadly, that didn't work out as it should've :( I believe it's the material setting causing that... if I played around with the mdl0 materials a little more, I might be able to get it... :/ but IDK for sure... gonna have to play around with it... Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: DarkPikachu on October 16, 2010, 08:39:25 PM you have to have the image set to transparent
then set it in the material... take that from a game developer ;) Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: Pinutk™ on October 16, 2010, 08:40:58 PM oh hey tech! ^^
yeah its a C Falcon hack, combined with some vertex edits, but I had to use DDVB1.0 because no other vertex method likes me, and I simply COULD NOT find the gun in the mess of vertex points >_> but me personally I'm just happy I got a vertex hack working! ;D lol EDIT: ohh really? but wouldn't that make all of the other things that arent transparent, transparent by changin the material1? Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: ??_? on October 16, 2010, 09:19:52 PM In this case, yeah it would, because I looked at the model and all his equipment is attached, the only way i could think of is just hexing it off
Title: Re: Texture transpaerncy help! Post by: Pinutk™ on October 16, 2010, 09:29:22 PM Ahhh hexing >.<
Its not too noticeable if its just a black anyay because it fits the hack, so I'll probably just leave it as it is. Thanks for the help though guys! :) |
