Title: Baffling issues caused by Alloys
Post by: (specter) on November 25, 2010, 06:37:47 PM
Yeah if I do Alloy vs. three non-Alloys or two of the same Alloys in the same match it will freeze after stage select. I don't understand because the Alloys have never given me any problems before and they always worked fine. Now all of a sudden they crash the game for no apparent reason. They have all the files they need to work properly (FitMotion, Fit.pac, 00.pac/.pcs) and proper codes are in place so I don't understand what could be the problem.

It also seems I always have to have an Alloy in the 4P slot only if I'm doing a battle with three non-alloys. I can do Alloy vs. non-Alloy or two non-alloys, but I can't do Alloy vs. three non-alloys unless the 4P slot is occupied by an Alloy. I was able to do Alloy vs three non-Alloys before without having the 4P slot occupied by an Alloy. I never touched the code since that time so I really don't get this. Was it just a rare coincidence? Because if I recall I played that match fully.

Impossible, I do a lot of all alloys matches  >:(
It must be a code problem

Yeah I've used Alloys in four-player matches.

No, it's not a code problem because I didn't touch the code since it was working.

After more experiments I found out that I can't have Alloys in a battle with at least two regular characters. When I do this, I get a silent freeze after stage select. I was also able to get past selecting a stage once with two of the same Alloys and two normal characters, but the game froze not too long after the match started. Currently if I have two of the same Alloys and other regular characters, I get an ear-splitting beep freeze after stage select. However, I can have one Alloy and one normal character fight, but anymore than that it will freeze.

Any help...?

If anyone is using an alloy then the 4th player has to be an alloy aswell or it will freeze. I read this somewhere before and found it to be true.

It must be a different code than the one I use.
My game has never crashed due to alloys.

Well I used the Yellow Alloy vs. three non-Alloy players, so that's not necissarily true.

What code do you use, then? I use the ones provided by ASF1nk.

Whoops wrong GCT xD

Not sure how to check my current GCT though, GCTEdit isn't recognizing the codes so it's not separating them.

Yeah that can be a pain; I know how that feels.

So now that I posted up my entire code list, maybe someone can look through it and look for any flaws (even though I can bet you there are none).
