Title: Vertexed character crashing game at CSS Post by: Weyard on December 05, 2010, 12:20:57 AM I'm working on a Bowletta model, but I've ran into a problem. The model is finished.(I had to heavily vertex Bowsers head in the process). However, I get a freeze and annoying buzz upon selecting Bowser on the Character Select Screen. Thinking I might have accidently made a naming mistake, I emptied my folder and made new a pcs and 00pac for him. Yet I'm still getting the freeze.
Can a .pcs be oversized, like a pac or can something be vertexed SO much that it causes this sort of problem? I can post a download link so someone can look into it if needed or no solution is readily available. Thanks in advance. Anyone see any reason that it would be causing freezing? http://www.mediafire.com/?mra1vc94vzz7jwc

I completely flattened his face, pushed his entire brow area into his face, brought some hair down to make the eyes, changed the shape of his chest, and lastly changed the horns. I suppose that is quite a bit now that I think about it. You are not adding or taking away from the model, you're just editing what's already there. Your freezing is due to something else, most likely. Or could it have something to do with the way he moved the bones if he moved any???? Title: Re: Vertexed character crashing game at CSS Post by: Weyard on December 05, 2010, 11:46:22 AM I didn't move/modify any bones. Other than vertexing, I used some textures from a Mario64 Bowser texture, then edited them a bit. Think maybe there was something wrong with those texture files? I'll try replacing them just in case.
Edit: Just looked in my Koopa folder, and the 00pac and pcs were the same file size. Pcs are usually smaller due to compression right? BrawlBox must have just done something wrong when saving. I just replaced both and am about to test it. Title: Re: Vertexed character crashing game at CSS Post by: xxmasal22xx on December 05, 2010, 01:25:39 PM I didn't move/modify any bones.
