Title: Why do you need to have an asterisk and space before every line of code?

So that the code is "turned on" and the game knows to use the code.

Really? My riivoultion doesnt take the code if it has the asterisk and space, i have to replace them in notepad with nothing.

I see.

One more question: Does it matter what category a code goes under? Like if you put a Stage code under "Gameplay", would it do anything to the game? Or are the categories just there for you to be organized?

I think they're just there to be organized for you.
