Title: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Post by: MythicHacker on January 02, 2011, 04:20:00 PM I'm new here so I am looking for (in general) how far one can go when hacking brawl. For example, is it possible to create a character with a completely different animations? Can new special effects be created? Say you wanted to have pikachu's lightning bolt look like a laser, or have a character that can use both lightning bolt and warlock punch. Is any of that remotely doable? I have modded for PC before and I know there must be limitations, and I would like to be aware of them. Thanks!

Just download that character's Fit(character name)MotionEtc.pac, open the character's Fit(character name).pac in BrawlBox ModSet 4.1, load up the Motion.pac, and then just do whatever you want from there. Can new special effects be created? Say you wanted to have pikachu's lightning bolt look like a laser, or have a character that can use both lightning bolt and warlock punch. Is any of that remotely doable? Yeah that's where PSA comes in. You need to tinker around with the character's code in the PSA program to get these effects. Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? I must say that is pretty amazing. Have you not checked out the Brawl Vault yet? There are plenty of custom creations out there, and some of them are quite amazing, considering it's all fan-made. You should give it a shot. ;) Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Post by: (specter) on January 02, 2011, 05:19:05 PM So it really is possible to create an entirely new character from scratch? I must say that is pretty amazing. Yeah...but not from "scratch" -- you have to use an existing Brawl character as a base for your hack and then you'll have to replace them with it. For example, there is a hack of Zero from the Megaman games with his own moves and everything, but he replaces Link. There is also Sephiroth over Marth, Naruto over Ike, etc. You can't be both the original character and the hack that you made off of him, but there is a cloning engine currently being made that will allow you to play as both the original and the PSA. Also, I highly recommend you check out the Brawl Vault like Gamma Ridley said -- it contains many PSAs, textures, music hacks, stage hacks, etc. Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Yeah pretty much anything you can think of it can probably be done. Enjoy. Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Post by: TheHatMan on January 03, 2011, 06:21:52 AM the only thing that can't be done....is importing from 3rd Party Consoles, or its done and I have never seen it.
And it should be easy to do Title: Re: Limitations of Brawl Hacking? Post by: MythicHacker on January 03, 2011, 05:40:08 PM One last question: is it possible to alter the number of vertices a model uses? For example, say I want to delete the head of a model, or add another head. Could this be done through the model, or would that not work? I am guessing no because the UV map would get messed up/the 3ds script wont read it correctly.
