Title: STGVILLAGE_xx.pac -- what's the value of xx? [SOLVED]
Post by: (specter) on January 02, 2011, 09:49:46 PM
What do you replace the XX value with? I just got a Windows XP texture and I'm using a .rel that came with it to use it over Smashville. But when I looked at my text file that contains the proper .pac naming, I saw "STGVILLAGE_xx.pac" and I don't know what to put in the Xs. I'm going to try 00, but I just need to know what it's for. Also I saw some other stages do this like STGMARIOPAST.pac.

For Smashville:

00 and 01 are day

02 is afternoon

03 and 04 are night

Jesus that's the fastest response I ever got to a topic. It's not even a minute old yet lol.

Anyway, thanks for that info. So do I need to make five copies of this .pac and rename each of them 00-04?

Heheh, I click on the newest topic thing at the top. :P

You could do that, but the time of day would remain static depending on what the stage is.

Is it an entirely new stage or a mod of Smashville?

I use that a lot, too.

It's an entirely new stage. http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=15266&Moderated=All&facebook=true

Well in that case you would just make copies in rename them accordingly.

Lol alright then.

So what about STGMARIOPAST.PAC? Just for future reference I'd like to know its values.

Also, this has got to be the quickest solved thread in the history of help threads I've made. It only took 12 minutes with no waiting between replies.

Lmao @ Chuy.

I'm just curious, but what would happen if I only had this stage over STGVILLAGE_00-02 and it was nighttime? Would Smashville load instead of this stage?

Ok; thanks guys.

Well, at least in my history of help thread making 12 minutes is my record.

Nothing would happen the stage would be the same

So then I can have just STGVILLAGE_00.PAC and that custom stage will load no matter what time of day it is? I don't need 01-04?

Also, it actually took only nine minutes to solve my problem. I just asked for extra stuff after wards.

Not sure about that but i'd be safe and have the extra files just in case :)

But you just said nothing would happen if I only had this custom stage for 00-02. 03-04 don't have anything loading over them so if I selected Smashville during night I thought it would just load nighttime Smashville.

It might not sure as this is one of the few things i haven't tried when editing rels :/
So you could try that and see what happens or you could just name the stage to go over all slots
It's up to you really

I'll try it over all five slots first, then I'll delete 00 and 01 and 03 and 04 and leave STGVILLAGE_02.PAC (as we all know it's not the afternoon at 1:30 AM) and see if it works.

Edit: Five slot works, but the game freezes if I remove the night slot ones (STGVILLAGE_03.PAC and STGVILLAGE_04.PAC). So I guess I do need 00-04.
