Post by: xxmasal22xx on January 12, 2011, 11:05:19 AM
Hey there everybody. xxmasal22xx here. I saw the perfect FD link with the awesome sword. I want to put it onto Zero, but don't know how. So how do i put link's sword into zero's hand?

You can do it through hexing the vertices from the one model over another.
Ofcourse you would have to switch the textures aswell.

EDIT: Here is Dingo's Tutorial on how to swap vertices with hex, if you wish to do this yourself.

Yep, I could do a written guide for ya ;)
-------
First, Open up both the Zero and the Fierce Deity in brawlbox.

In the Zero file, export the MDL0 and the vertex sets for the sword (you can use the 'id' to match vertex sets to polygons).
In the Fierce Deity file, once again export the vertex sets for the sword but add '_new' or something like that to the end of the file name (so that you can tell the difference against the Zero ones)

Now open up HxD and drag 'n' drop all the stuff you exported into it.
Select the tab for Zero's sword vertices and Copy everything except the top two lines.
Now select the Zero MDL0 and press Ctrl + F.
In this window change the Datatype to 'Hex values' box and check the 'all' box. Once you've done that, paste everything into the top box and click Ok.

Now select the corresponding Vertex set from Fierce Diety and copy everthing except the top two lines like you did before.
Return to the Zero MDL0 and press Ctrl + V to paste over the selection.

Rinse and repeat for all the vertex sets you want to replace, then go to file > save.

All you have to do now is replace the model in Brawlbox ;D

Your welcome ;)
And No, this will only work when swapping vertex sets on the same character.

You could either try and vertex it to look like Lucario's tail, or you could attach it with PSA (But I don't know much PSA, so I can't help you with that)
