Title: Question about Fit....MotionEtc files
Post by: randomlettters on February 13, 2011, 11:41:53 PM
Alright, I'm quite confused about MotionEtc files. I just downloaded a Halibel for ZSS skin from the vault , for example, and it came with, in addition to the pac and pcs, a fitszerosuitmotionetc File. My questions are as follows...

1. What kind of file is this? Where the others say either pcs or pac, this says "File." So where does this file go? Does it go in fighters/szerosuit/ along with the pcs and pacs I have for this and the other costumes (as this strange file format)?
> Now, if I do this, I notice that it doesn't have a 00 or 01, etc at the end of the name, so if I put this into the folder, will it affect ALL my other hacked textures as well (whatever it may do)?

2. Is loading of this motionetc file necessary to have the pac and pcs files work properly?

If it helps at all, I'm running Brawl-.

Anyways, thanks for any help on this.

All you need is the .pac file instead of the pcs file for MotionEtc's. Motion is just, well, the moves and their motion. All you need is the pac file of the fot[insertcharacter]motionetc.pac and the fit[insertcharacter]##.pcs for almost all of them. The only thing you do need the pac for when you want textures is when you have it on Pokemon Trainer, Zelda/Sheik, and the other transformations in brawl. If you only have the .pcs file, when you switch between them, it'll default to the normal brawl colors.

MotionEtc files have articles IIRC, you just put it in the same folder as your costume .pac/.pcs files.

Thanks for the replies guys. But I guess my question now is, will not putting an included motionetc file on the SD card be a problem, or do anything bad? I mean, I just downloaded a texture pack from somewhere, and it includes, in addition to textures for each slot, a motionetc file. For example, Toon Link has this thing called "Phazon Weapons and slash." I only really want the textures. Is not including the motionetc  okay (which is what I want to do), or will it/can it lead to problems?

Thanks again.

You can do without it, but if you want to get the best out of that texture you downloaded, it wouldn't hurt to keep the MotionEtc file; it'll just help make the hack cooler.
