Title: Riivolution help
Post by: lYIaXeD OuT on February 21, 2011, 03:58:34 AM
kk for one, what are the benefits of switching to Riivolution from gecko. and on a scale from 1-10, how hard is it to switch from completly using mods with gecko, and my hacks include textures, PSA's, CPS's battle portites, a CSS change, and a SSS change. So how hard would it be for me and what r the upsides.

Well Riivolution supports SFX and movie hacks and you have unlimited file size for your sc_selcharacter.pac since it's stored inside common5.pac which has no size limit.

Well, all you really need to do is learn how to use XMLs. You can even edit it to emulate your Gecko setup -- that's what I did. Once you learn XMLs and adjust it to your liking to match where all your current files are then that's all that really needs to be done.

Riivolution is extremely simple (and is region free)

You can use Bionic's XML from here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=11895052&highlight=mod+launcher#post11895052 (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=11895052&highlight=mod+launcher#post11895052)
Another option is to use an XML that has all the same file paths as the File Patch Code used with Gecko: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=11753.msg181268#msg181268 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=11753.msg181268#msg181268)

No you can transfer all of your old stuff over. Just make sure the XML is configured according to your setup.
